Air Force Finishes Third at Lindenwood Tri-Meet

Air Force women's gymnastics had three individuals set career-high scores
ST. CHARLES, Missouri. - Air Force posted a 193.175 to finish third in a tri-meet at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. The hosting Lions won the event with a 195.325 while Southeast Missouri State claimed second with a 194.500. Three Falcons set personal career-high scores at the meet.
UNEVEN BARS - 48.550
The Falcons set a season-high team score on the uneven parallel bars, tallying a 48.500 in the event. Anna Salamone, the Academy's record-bearer in the event, led the squad with a 9.800 and finished in a three-way tie for third place. Lauren Miller posted a 9.725, setting a career-high mark, to finish ninth. Junior Jessica Kirkpatrick posted a season-high 9.700 for a three-way tie at 10th place. Cam Barber (9.675) and Grace Bardes (9.650) finished 13th and 15th, respectively.
Lindenwood claimed the top-three spots to win first in the event (48.900) behind Courtney Mitchell's 9.850 and first-place finish. S.E. Missouri State finished ahead of Air Force with a 48.800.
BALANCE BEAM - 47.375
The beam proved difficult for the Falcons who scored 47.375 in the event, finishing third in the team scores. Freshman Briona Carswell led Air Force with a 9.775 and finished tied for fifth. Amber Boll posted the next best score for the Falcons, posting a 9.625 for a tie at 11th place. Cameo Stapleton and Makensie Blum scored 9.550 for a tie at 13th place. The event marked Blum's collegiate debut.
Lindenwood claimed the top-two positions but S.E. Missouri State claimed the event with a 48.775 to top the Lions' 48.400.
FLOOR EXERCISE - 48.750
Air Force scored its best result on the floor exercise where Anna Salamone led the squad with a career-high 9.850, landing in a four-way tie for third place. Natalie Meyer scored 9.800 for Air Force's second-best finish, tying at ninth place. Brooke Bruder and Heidi Sand finished tied for 12th with 9.725 marks. Bardes (9.650) and Stapleton (9.050) finished 14th and 17th, respectively.
The Falcons placed second in the event behind Lindenwood (49.325) and ahead of S.E. Missouri State (48.600). Lindenwood claimed a share of the top-four positions with a pair of 9.900s and a pair of 9.850s
VAULT - 48.500
Air Force concluded the event on the vault where Salamone led the way with a 9.775 and three-way tie for second place. Boll and Kirkpatrick finished tied for fifth place with 9.725 marks, a career-high score for Boll and a season-high mark for Kirkpatrick. Sand finished at 10th place with a 9.700 while teammates Bardes (9.575) and Bruder (9.475) finished 15th and 17th, respectively.
Air Force finished second behind first-place Lindenwood (48.700) and ahead of S.E. Missouri State (48.325). The Lions took the top finish with a 9.800 from Kyndall Baze.
Air Force did not have a gymnast compete for an all-around score. Lindenwood's Ryan Henry posted the top all-around score with a 39.175.
Next up, Air Force concludes the regular season with a dual at Iowa State, Friday (Mar. 13), in Hilton Coliseum. Action is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. CT/5:30 MT.
