Air Force travels to Bentley

This Week: Air Force (0-8-1, 0-8-1 AHA) travels to Waltham, Mass., for a two-game league series against Bentley (2-5-0, 2-5-0 AHA), Sunday-Monday, Jan. 31-Feb. 1. Both games start at 5:05 pm ET at the Bentley Ice Arena.
Back On the Ice: Air Force returns to the ice after a 14-day pause due to COVID. Prior to the pause, the Falcons played five games in a span of seven days on a 10-day road trip out east. When the puck drops on Saturday, Air Force will have not played in 22 days.

Schedule Changes: There have been several changes to the original schedule. The Bentley series this weekend was moved to Sunday-Monday, Jan. 31-Feb. 1. The series at Long Island, scheduled for Feb. 19-20, has been canceled. The series against Canisius, scheduled for Feb. 26-27 at the Cadet Ice Arena has been rescheduled for Friday-Saturday, Feb. 19-20 at the Academy. Friday's game will start at 7 pm while Saturday's game will start at 5 pm. Air Force will be idle the weekend of Feb. 26-27.
Scouting Bentley: Bentley is 2-5-0 overall and 2-5-0 in AHA play. The Falcons defeated Holy Cross, 5-2, on Tuesday, Jan. 26, the team's first game since Dec. 19. Junior forward Jakov Novak, an Ottawa Senators draft choice, leads the team with five goals, including a pair in the win over Holy Cross. Senior forward Luke Santerno leads the team with eight points in seven games. He had three assists on Tuesday. Freshman goalie Nicholas Grabko has seen the most action in goal and has a 2.53 GAA and a .903 saves percentage. He made 22 saves in the win over HC on Tuesday. Bentley has scored 15 goals, while allowing 19, in seven games.
Series vs. Bentley: The teams have played 54 times and Air Force holds a 33-15-6 advantage in the series that began in 1998. As Atlantic Hockey foes, the teams played 45 times since the beginning of the 2006-07 season (14 years) and Air Force holds a 27-13-5 lead. In games played in Waltham, Mass, Air Force is 13-8-1 against Bentley. Last season, Air Force swept Bentley at Cadet Ice Arena, 4-2 and 3-2. In the last series in Waltham, Bentley swept the series, 4-3 in overtime and 4-0, Feb. 1-2, 2019. Air Force has lost three of the last four in Waltham and is 0-2 at the Bentley Ice Arena.
