Women's Basketball Hosts Boise State in Two-Game Series

Air Force women's basketball tips off against Boise State, Jan. 6 at 6 p.m. and Jan. 8 at 2:30 p.m.

Air Force returns to the Academy to host Boise State in a two-game series, on January 6 and 8. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. MT on Wednesday (Jan. 6), and 2:30 p.m. MT on Friday (Jan. 8). The Falcons will take the court with their sights set on ending a 14-game losing streak to the Broncos.
THE SERIES AGAINST BOISE STATE
-Air Force is 1-20 against the Broncos
-The Falcons one win was at USAFA in February of 2013, 77-72
-The last time the teams met was in last year's conference tournament quarterfinals where Boise State won, 70-53
-The series began in 2003

The Falcons continue conference action with a pair of games at Wyoming, January 16 and 18, in Arena Auditorium. Tip times are yet to be determined. The Cowgirls (4-3, 2-2 MW) are on a break from action for the week and will travel to Boise, Idaho, to take on the Broncos on January 11 and 13.
LAST WEEK
Air Force dropped a pair of games in the two-game series at Utah State, 70-66 on December 31, and 61-55 on January 2. Riley Snyder led the Falcons in scoring for the week, averaging 21.5 points between the two games. Emily Conroe posted a double-double in both games, averaging 11.5 rebounds and 12 points over the series. She has two double-doubles this season and 11 on her career.
DOING NUMBERS
Air Force is averaging 12.6 steals per game, leading the MW and ranking eighth in the NCAA. The Falcons have picked off 88 steals this season, the most in the MW and 26th most in Division I women's basketball. Air Force's staunch defense ranks them 25th in the nation, first in the league, in forced turnovers (21.14 per game).
Air Force rolled to a 94-65 win over Portland State in the non-conference finale at Clune Arena. The 94 points was the most scored in the Chris Gobrecht era at the Academy and the second-most in Div. I play for the Falcons.
Air Force shot a scorching 60.9 percent from the field and 53.3 percent from three-point range against Portland State. The Falcons defense held the Vikings to 36 percent shooting on the day, while forcing 24 turnovers.
