Air Force hosts Canisius, Dec. 3-4

This Week: Air Force (4-9-1, 2-5-1 AHA) hosts the Canisius Golden Griffins (8-6-1, 5-3-0 AHA), in a two-game Atlantic Hockey series, Friday-Saturday, Dec. 3-4, at the Cadet Ice Arena. Friday's game starts at 7:05 pm MT while Saturday's opening faceoff is at 5:05 pm MT.
Killing It: The Air Force penalty kill was perfect in the Sacred Heart series, killing all 21 Pioneer power plays. Air Force has killed 22 straight opponent power plays dating back to the second period of game two against Bentley, Nov. 13. Over the last seven games, the Falcons penalty kill is at 92 percent (31-of-34).
About the Griffs: Canisius is 8-6-1 overall and 5-3-0 in the AHA and in fourth place with 15 points. Last weekend, the Griffs split a series at home with AIC, winning 6-5 on Friday and falling, 3-2 on Saturday. Keaton Mastrodonato leads the team with eight goals and 18 points. Five Griffs have 10 or more points in the 15 games. Goalie Jacob Barczewski has started 13 of the 15 games and has a 2.75 GAA and a .911 saves percentage. Canisius leads the conference with 3.5 goals per game, 19 power play goals and four short-handed goals.
Series vs. Canisius: Air Force and Canisius have played 51 times and the Falcons hold a 25-16-10 lead in the series that began in 2006. The teams played twice last season at Air Force and the Falcons swept the series, 4-3 in overtime and 5-1. Air Force is 14-9-5 against Canisius at the Cadet Ice Arena. Air Force has won five of the last six games against the Griffs at Cadet Ice Arena. Overall, Air Force is 3-3-1 in the last seven against Canisius.
