Falcons Split for Two Weekend Meets

Air Force will compete at the Iowa State Classic and UCCS Open over the Feb. 12-13 weekend.
The Air Force track and field team splits for a pair of meets over the Feb. 12-13 weekend. The majority of the squad will remain close to home and compete at the Colorado Running Company UCCS Open in Colorado Springs, while select middle distance and distance runners will travel to Ames, Iowa, for the annual Iowa State Classic.
NOTICE FOR SPECTATORS
Due to COVID restrictions and regulations, spectators will not be allowed at either meet.
MEET INFORMATION | IOWA STATE CLASSIC
The Iowa State Classic will take place at the Lied Recreation Center on the ISU campus. Air Force is scheduled to have runners compete in three different events. The men's and women's 5000-meter races will take place on Friday, Feb. 12, while the men's mile and 3000-meter run will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13. The meet will be broadcast live on FloTrack, through its FloPro subscription service, while live results will be available via Prime Time Timing (direct links to both can be found on the Air Force schedule page). In addition, in-meet updates and highlights for Air Force will be available on the team's Twitter account (@af_tfxc).
MEET INFORMATION | COLORADO RUNNING COMPANY UCCS OPEN
The UCCS Open, which will include athletes from several Colorado schools, will be held over the Feb. 12-13 weekend at Mountain Lion Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs. Friday's action is slated to begin for Air Force at 11:30 a.m., while Saturday's competition will get underway at 10:00 a.m. (MT). The meet will be streamed live through the UCCS portal, while live stats will available at Rapid Results Live (direct links to both can be found on the Air Force schedule page). In addition, in-meet updates and highlights for Air Force will be available on the team's Twitter account (@af_tfxc).
LOOKING AROUND THE NATION
Three Falcons are ranked in the top 25 of the national indoor standings this week, including a pair of vaulters – Mitch Lipe, Greg Skage – that are ranked 18th (17'3") and 24th (17'0¾"), respectively, on the descending order list. With his career-best clearance of 6'11" at the Wyoming Power Meet, Jake Hall moved to No. 22 in the high jump standings.
SQUAD GOALS
This week's USTFCCCA #EventSquad rankings featured a pair of Air Force event groups listed within the nation's top 15. The men's pole vault remained ranked at No. 5, while the high jump moved up to 14th. The #EventSquad rankings are determined by using the cumulative season-best marks from a team's top-four athletes on the national descending order list.

The Falcons return to the Academy next weekend to host the Air Force Collegiate Open on Friday, Feb. 19.
