Falcons Set to Host MPSF Championships

Air Force Will welcome California, Oklahoma and Stanford to Cadet West Gym on April 3.
The 13th-ranked Air Force men's gymnastics team kicks off the championship portion of its season this Saturday (April 3), when it hosts the 2021 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships at the Academy. The meet, which features two of the nation's top-three teams – No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 3 Stanford – as well as No. 11 California and the Falcons, will be held inside Cadet West Gym.
MEET INFORMATION
The MPSF Championships will begin at 1:00 p.m. (MT), inside the Cadet West Gym. Due to Academy restrictions, a maximum of 20 invited fans per team will be allowed to attend. The competition will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network, while live results will also be available. Direct links to both video and stats can be found on the Falcons' schedule page.
LET'S MEET THE FIELD
Oklahoma and Stanford are ranked first (three-score average of 413.867) and third (411.383), respectively, in the national standings, while California is 11th (389.200) and Air Force is 13th (383.633). Stanford holds the best team averages on the vault (73.117) and parallel bars (69.800), while Oklahoma holds the top mark on the floor exercise with a three-score average of 71.150. Individually, conference gymnasts lead the nation on a pair of events, as Oklahoma's Gage Dwyer is ranked first on the floor exercise with a National Qualifying Average of 14.850 and Stanford's Brody Malone holds the country's top NQA on the parallel bars (14.683).
AIR FORCE IN THE RANKINGS
With a three-score average of 383.633, Air Force is ranked 13th in the national standings. The Falcons are listed a team-high 11th on the still rings (64.100) and parallel bars (65.017), while Frankie Valentin and Garrett Braunton are listed 17th (76.550) and 18th (76.400), respectively, in the all-around on the nation's individual standings.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
The 2021 season comes to a close on April 16-17, when the nation's top gymnasts converge on Maturi Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minn., for the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships. Participants for two-day meet, which begins with the National Qualifier, will be announced next week.
