Air Force travels to Mercyhurst, Jan. 21-22

This Week: Air Force (7-11-2, 5-7-2 AHA) travels to Erie, Pa., for a two-game Atlantic Hockey series against the Mercyhurst Lakers (5-13-4, 3-7-4 AHA), Friday-Saturday, Jan. 21-22. Friday's game is at 7:05 pm ET while Saturdays game is at 4:05 pm ET.

About the Lakers: Mercyhurst (5-13-4, 3-7-4 AHA) lost a pair of conference games at AIC, 6-3 and 5-4. The Lakers have lost eight of their nine games. Five of those losses have come to Ohio State, Boston College, New Hampshire and Miami. Austin Heidemann leads the team with nine goals and 17 points. Carson Briere and Dante Sherrif each have 14 points. Hank Johnson and Kyle McLellan have split time in the net.

Series vs. Mercyhurst: Air Force leads the all-time series with Mercyhurst, 23-17-5. The series began in 2007 with the teams both being members of Atlantic Hockey. Last season, Mercyhurst swept the Falcons in Erie, 5-2 and 6-3. The Laker wins ended a five-game Air Force unbeaten streak against MU. Air Force is 8-4-2 in the last 14 against the Lakers. The teams have played 20 games in Erie and the Falcons hold a 10-7-3 lead at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
