Falcons Set to Host Air Force Invitational

The three-day meet begins Thursday, Jan. 20, with the heptathlon and pentathlon.
The track and field team returns to action – and the Academy – this week, when it hosts the 32nd-annual Air Force Invitational on Jan. 20-22. The multi-event athletes open the three-day home meet with the heptathlon and pentathlon on Thursday, while the rest of the squad takes to the Cadet Field House Indoor Track on Friday and Saturday.
MEET INFORMATION
The Air Force Invitational, which will take place inside the Cadet Field House, features teams from Air Force, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Hawaii, Long Beach State, MSU Denver, Southern Utah, Weber State, Western Colorado and Wyoming. A complete schedule of events is listed below. Admission is free for Thursday and Friday and $10 for Saturday. Live results will be available via GoAirForceFalcons.com/TrackFieldResults, while in-meet Air Force highlights will be posted on the team's official Twitter account (@af_tfxc).
WELCOME BACK
Fans are invited back to Air Force Track and Field meets, but current Defense Department and Air Force Academy rules require all individuals to wear a mask inside Academy facilities. All individuals who have not been fully vaccinated must also wear masks outside on military installations.

Two Falcons are listed among the nation's Top 15 in this week's TFRRS standings. With their Academy Record performances, Sam Gilman is ranked fourth in the 5000-meter run (13:25.17) and Katie Thompson is listed 12th in the long jump (20'3").

(01-18-22) Two members of the Falcons' pole vault lineup claimed Mountain West Athlete of the Week honors on Jan. 18, following an impressive weekend at the Potts Invitational. Since 2002, the Falcons' pole vault unit has collected 54 weekly conference awards.
