
Horn scores two in 4-1 win at Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. –  Nate Horn scored two goals and Alex Schilling made 29 saves to lead Air Force to a 4-1 win over Bentley in an Atlantic Hockey Association game Friday, Feb. 18, at the Bentley Ice Arena.
Bentley (12-16-1, 10-12-1 AHA) outshot Air Force, 5-0, in the first five minutes of the game but Alex Schilling kept the net clean. Late in the period, Mitchell Digby's shot was knocked down, but Horn put back the rebound at 18:20 for a 1-0 lead. Willie Reim also assisted on the play as Horn scored his ninth of the season.
Bentley tied the game early in the second period when Cole Kodsi won a scrum on the back wall, carried the puck in front of the net, and scored at 4:50. Air Force (12-15-2, 10-11-2 AHA) scored two goals in the final seven minutes of the period for a 3-1 lead. Brian Adams forced a turnover on the forecheck and set up Austin Schwartz in the right circle. Schwartz netted his second of the season at 13:19. On the penalty kill, Jacob Marti cleared the puck and Bennett Norlin battled along the wall with three Bentley players. Norlin took the puck to the front of the net and his shot was saved. Marti poked the puck free and Norlin scored his first of the season with 3:57 left in the second.
Late in the third period with a two-goal lead, Brandon Koch started a 3-on-2 rush. Horn took a pass from Reim in the slot and scored his second of the game and 10th of the season with 3:12 left in the third.
Air Force outshot Bentley, 32-30, in the game. Air Force was 0-for-3 on the power play and killed all seven Bentley power plays. Evan DeBrouwer made 28 saves for Bentley.
"It was a great victory for us," head coach Frank Serratore said. "I liked our intensity from start to finish. Our guys looked fresh and well-rested. Alex Schilling was really good, especially early in the game when Bentley was out-shooting us. It was a great overall effort tonight for some much-needed points and now we have to come back and do it again tomorrow."
Air Force and Bentley conclude the two-game league series on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 4:05 pm ET.
