Falcons close 2022 with nine USAG All-Americans

ITHACA, N.Y.- The Falcons concluded the 2022 campaign at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Nationals, and after three days of competition, Air Force received nine All-American selections.
Amber Boll and Val Smith both qualified and competed in Sunday's Individual Finals portion of the USAG Nationals event, and as a result received First Team All-American status. Boll's All-American recognition comes on the vault, as she scored a 9.600 in the event during today's Individual Finals, while Smith garnered her All-American title on the beam.
Genevieve Sabado, the MPSF Freshman of the Year, added further hardware to her trophy case with a team-leading three All-American titles. Sabado was named a First Team All-American in the all-around, as the freshman's 38.950 four-event score on Friday was the second-highest total during the semifinal round. Sabado also received Second Team honors in the bars and beam.
Velandra Brochi was also awarded First Team All-American honors in the all-around, as Brochi's 38.875 on Friday was third-overall. Brochi also picked up Second Team honors in the floor exercise.
Ayla McKean was among the Falcons three all-around First Team All-Americans following her 38.650 score.
Gabriella Meccia also picked up All-American recognition, having been named to the Second Team in the vault.
