Dodd Leads Air Force to Convincing 12-8 Win Against Cleveland State

USAF ACADEMY – Air Force downed Cleveland State in ASUN Conference action, 12-8, Saturday afternoon at Falcon Stadium. The Falcons are on a two-game win streak, winning seven of their last eight games, as they improve to 7-5 on the season with a 2-1 mark in league play.
Air Force junior Brandon Dodd put up a career-best seven goals on the Vikings for his fourth-straight hat trick, eighth of the season. The seven-goal performance is the second-most in the program record books behind a three-way tie for first with Mike Crampton, Bryan Salmon and Mike Murphy each scoring eight goals. Dodd added an assist to his stat line to go along with an impressive 15 shots. Dodd leads the Falcons with 39 goals this season.
Brenden Crouse, Kyle Griffith, Brian Michael, Aidan Tolen and Gavin Peene rounded out the scoring for Air Force with a goal apiece. Griffith has scored a goal in seven-straight games while Peene has notched a goal in four-straight contests.
Cleveland State (3-8, 0-3 ASUN) was led in scoring by Adam Clark who netted two goals and Jason Sullivan who dished three assists.
The Falcons' Dante Orlando, Alexander Stepney and Wes Peene dished an assist apiece.
The ASUN's leader in caused turnovers Quentin Carlile anchored a staunch defense alongside senior teammate Caden Wolfson, James Chastain and Chris Bardak, each causing a turnover on the game. Christian Marshall was also credited with a pair of CTs.
In his seventh win of the season, Jason Rose made 13 saves in 60 minutes on the field. He caused a game-high four turnovers. Rose maintains a .552 save percentage for the best percentage in the league. He averages 12.73 saves per game, a mark that ranks him second in conference and 16th across the nation.
Midfielders Tommy Hellman and Christian Marshall made their presence known picking up five and three ground balls, respectively. Marshal was credited with a pair of caused turnovers in the effort.
Senior co-team captain Brian Michael had a stellar day at the center X, winning 11 of 16 attempts and picking up a game-high nine ground balls. Faceoff teammate Braden Gaab went 4-6 at the center dot.
Next up, Air Force hits the road for the last time in regular season play, taking on Robert Morris on Saturday, April 23. The Falcons and Colonials face off at noon ET in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. Air Force is looking to redeem last season's 14-13 home loss to RMU.
