Falcon Lacrosse Hosts Bellarmine for Senior Day and Regular Season Finale

SENIOR SO LONGS
Nine Falcons will be honored for Senior Day prior to face off. Quentin Carlile, Brenden Crouse, Chase Douglas, Cole Grindberg, August Johnson, Christian Marshall, Brian Michael, Ian Mullins and Caden Wolfson will be suiting up for the final time as Falcons at Falcon Stadium. The class of 2022 had a hand in the 2019 regular season SOCON Co-Championship, three conference tournament appearances and tallied 25 wins in their four years despite a shortened season in 2020.
THE SERIES VS. BELLARMINE
-The Falcons are 11-3 in the all-time series against the Knights
-AF is on an eight-game win streak dating back to 2014
-The Falcons are 5-1 when playing the Knights at USAFA

LAST TIME THEY PLAYED
A commanding fourth quarter lifted Air Force to an 8-6 win over Bellarmine in the Falcons' Southern Conference opener at Frazier Stadium. August Johnson scored a game-high and career-best four goals on eight shots. Co-team captain Quincy Peene took six shots on the day, one of which converted to a goal.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Falcons will await seedings for the 2022 ASUN Lacrosse Tournament hosted in Huntsville, Alabama, May 5-7. Utah has won the conference outright with a 4-0 mark in the league. Robert Morrise secured second place at 3-1. Air Force and Bellarmine are currently tied at 2-2 and will be playing for the third seed.
ETCHING A LEGACY
Junior attack man Brandon Dodd crested the 50-point milestone following his eight-point game against Cleveland State (Apr. 16). Dodd has 64 points this season which ranks him in a tie for second in the program record book for single-season points. Mike Crampton ('14) holds the program standard with 66 points in a single season. His 44 goals this year ranks him second in the program record books, tracking Mike Crampton who holds the program standard with 48 goals in one season.
TRACKING THE 50-BURGER
Senior middie Brenden Crouse has 49 points this season. He is on a 17-game point streak dating back to April 17, 2021. Crouse's 35 goals this season ties him for seventh in the single season record books. If Crouse tallies one more point, it would be the first time AF finished a season with two players with 50 points or more since joining Div. I lacrosse.
DOING NUMBERS
Brandon Dodd has nine hat tricks this season, eight of which were in the last nine games. He's scored double hat tricks on a pair of occasions and has three five-goal games. He leads the ASUN in with a five points per game average, a mark that ranks him eighth in the nation. His 3.67 goals per game is also the most by any player in the ASUN, ranking him second in the nation.
Brenden Crouse is fifth in the ASUN in points per game (3.77) and has five hat tricks on the season. He scored a career-high six goals at Mercer on March 19.
IN CAGE
Air Force junior goalie Jason Rose averages 12.31 saves per games so far this season and boasts a conference-best .541 save percentage on seven wins in the last nine games. He put up a personal best 21 saves against Bryant (March 12), besting his earlier season-high 18 against No. 12 Denver (Feb. 12). He tallied 14 saves against back-to-back champs No. 1 Virginia, in the season opener.
D-UP
Falcon linchpin defender Quentin Carlile, a preseason All-ASUN selection, leads the squad with 30 caused turnovers and 39 ground balls. His 30 CTs is the single-season program record. Despite a shortened 2020 season due to COVID, Carlile has 84 career caused turnovers, tying former teammate and honorable mention All-American Brandon Jones ('19) for the top spot.
Carlile, the team captain, is assisted by Air Force sophomore standouts Chris Bardak and James Chastain. Bardak has 14 CTs while Chastain has 10. Bardak displays his utility with four goals and 25 GBs to his credit. When the trio is on the field together, they are good for more than a .700 clear percentage.
AT THE X
Falcon co-team captain Brian Michael has taken the majority of attempts this season, winning 101-of-115 (.468). He came out on top in six of the last nine meetings, highlighted by an impressive 8-of-11 face off wins against Canisius. He has 53 ground balls to his credit this season. At Mercer, Michael snagged up a career high 12 ground balls while going 14-25 in face offs at center X. AF walk on Braden Gaab has thrown his hat in the mix for the lead face off man slot, winning 54-percent of attempts highlighted by an impressive 11-14 showing against Utah.
