Air Force Swims to Top Finishes and Team Win at the Horsetooth Open Water

HORSETOOTH RESERVOIR – Air Force had an exemplary showing at the 2022 Horsetooth Open Water, winning the overall team competition with seven top-10 finishes highlighted by winners in the top-three spots.

On Sunday morning, head swimming coach Colleen Murphy and a small contingent of her swimmers traveled to Horsetooth Reservoir outside of Fort Collins to compete at the 2.4-mile Collegiate Open Water Swim, where Air Force placed first among all teams.

Sophomore Katherine Kucik swam to a first-place finish, clocking 51:50 in the effort. The win marked Kucik's second top-three finish in as many tries. Teammates Sophie Boulware (51:58) and Corinne Yorkman (52:32) finished second and third, respectively.

Other top-10 finishes include Lauren Arnold (5^th, 53:39), Isabelle Gelle (6^th, 53:47), Zoe Bresnahan (7^th, 53.51), and Allison Langenburg (8^th, 53.52).

Next up for the Falcons is the annual Blue/Silver intersquad meet, hosted in Cadet Natatorium on September 22. Action is slated for 5 p.m.
