LUBBOCK, Texas – Impacting the Top 5 of the Academy Record Book for the second time in as many events at the Texas Tech Open, Air Force sophomore – and Texas native – Taylor Rioux capped a stellar homecoming weekend this afternoon (Jan. 28) with the fourth-fastest 200-meter time in program history.

One day after accounting for the fourth-fastest 400-meter time in program history, Rioux returned to the Sports Performance Center track and promptly moved into the same position on the Academy's 200-meter standings. Knocking more than a half second off her previous career best, Rioux crossed the finish line in 24.93 – a time that was 35th in the full 108-runner event and the fastest time by a Falcon in two years.
Air Force also made an addition to the program's all-time standings of the men's 4x400-meter relay on Saturday, as sophomore Cameron Breier, classmate Darek Hackett, senior Zac Larrier and junior John Colizzi combined for a time of 3:15.03. Competing in their first relay together, the quartet debuted at No. 22 on the Falcons' all-time standings and finish ninth in the 23-team event.
In addition to his work on the relay, Larrier also led a contingent of Falcons in the men's 200-meter sprint, as he and sophomore Javin Bostic placed within the top-25 of an event that included more than 100 runners. Larrier clocked a time of 21.63 to finish 23rd in the overall field, while Bostic placed 25th with a heat-winning time of 21.68 (a mark just 0.03 off the career best). Bostic was one of three Falcons to win their respective heats, as Hackett finished just 0.02 off his personal best with a mark of 21.16 and senior Cameron Harris made his season debut in that event with a time of 22.47.
From the field, sophomore Jalan Rivers earned a fourth-place finish in the high jump (6'8¾"), while senior Hayden Bullock earned the same placement in the shot put (54'0"). Freshman Texas Tanner also claimed a top 10 finish in the shot put (eighth, 51'8¼") and junior Caiden Macktinger tied for sixth in the pole vault with a clearance of 16'8¼".
The Falcons return to the Academy on Friday (Feb. 3) to host the Invitational at the Peak.
