Five Falcons earn WWPA all-academic honors

Air Force water polo had five players named to the Western Water Polo Association all-academic team, as announced today by the WWPA office.
Senior Larsen McCarroll, sophomore David Brown and freshmen Jackson Carter, Thomas Newell and Ethan Smith were named to the all-academic team.
A senior from Laguna Beach, Calif., McCarroll is majoring in systems engineering. He played in 34 games and had 18 goals and seven assists for 25 points this past season. Brown, from Chula Vista, Calif., is a Space Warfare major. Brown played in 35 games and had 11 goals and six assists for 17 points.
Carter, from Roseville, Calif., is undeclared for his major. Carter scored 34 goals and had 26 assists for 60 points. Newell, a native of Denver, is a Biology major. Newell appeared in 35 games, scored seven goals and six assists for 13 points. Smith, from Sacramento, Calif., is undeclared for his major. Smith scored three goals for the Falcons.
To be eligible for WWPA All-Academic honors, a player must have competed in at least 50 percent of his team's contests during the current season, carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better, be classified as a full-time student for all terms of attendance, and have completed a minimum of one semester or two quarters at his institution.
