Women’s Gymnastics Brings Home USAG National All-Around Title, Nine All-American Awards

DENTON, Texas – To close out its 2022 season, the Air Force women's gymnastics team closed the USA Gymnastics (USAG) Championships with a number of accolades under their belt, including national title bragging rights for sophomore Velandra Brochi.
Day One:
Air Force, seeking a bid into the proceeding team finals, finished in second place of four, earning a 193.850 to advance. High scores in each event included a 9.800 for senior Amber Boll on both vault and balance beam, 9.775 for Brochi on uneven bars, and a pair of 9.800s for both Brochi and freshman Kylee Greene on floor.
The Falcons' day one efforts were highlighted by Brochi being named USAG All-Around National Champion, earning a 39.125 across all four events and earning Air Force's first USAG title since the 2019 season (Anna Salamone).
USAG All-Americans:
The Falcons claimed nine USAG All-American awards across five separate performers. First-team selections were tabbed for individual title contention on Saturday:

Air Force – in the mix of final four teams competing for a USAG title in the team final on Friday, finished the day with a 194.850, tying Southeast Missouri State for third.
Team scores improved on both balance beam and floor exercise from the day prior. The Falcons earned an event-high 49.075 on beam, eclipsing the 49.000 mark for the fourth time this season; Carswell's 9.850 in the event was a team-best for the weekend, earning the senior a share of first place, with Greene and Ayla McKean following up, both earning a 9.825, tying Greene's career mark. On floor, Air Force improved from day one by .250, scoring a 48.875, good for second against the field. Greene and Madison Carlisle led floor, both scoring a 9.800 – good for a share of fifth place in the event.
Individual Finals:
The final day of competition of the 2023 season pitted the first-team All-Americans in individual competition. Boll closed her Saturday with a sixth-place finish on balance beam after earning a 9.775 in her collegiate finale.
