Women’s tennis falls 4-3 to North Dakota

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – In a grind-it-out contest to open the 2024 dual season, the Air Force women's tennis team fell, 4-3, to North Dakota in the Cadet Gym on Friday night.
In doubles, the Falcons had the upper hand early on, as Air Force led on lines two and three. On court two, Alexis Odom/Nadia Kojonroj led Jule Schulte/Nore Heinitz by as much as 4-0 in their set and led 5-3 in the deciding game, but Schulte/Heinitz claimed four wins in a row to win their court. On line three, Joselyn Limbago/Amy Park had a two-game lead at 3-1 over UND's Lucia Rizza/Aziza Aubin, but found themselves tied at 4-all. Limbago and Holguin, down by 40-15 in the 4-4 game, stormed back to win and take a 5-4 lead, but ultimately fell 7-5 to secure a North Dakota doubles point.
In singles play, it was Kojonroj who managed to even the score on line three, defeating Heinitz in a straight-set, 7-5, 6-4 win for her first of 2024.
Sophomore Arianna Van Houweling, after falling in her opening set against Sapir Sela, went 6-4, 6-2 down the final two sets to dispatch of her UND opponent.
Senior Isabella Flodin earned her first win of the dual season, defeating Aubin in a three-set battle in which Flodin won 7-5 and 7-6 to inch out the win.
