Falcons Head South for New Mexico Team Open

The Air Force track and field team travels to New Mexico this weekend, when they head to Albuquerque for the New Mexico Team Open at the ABQ Convention Center on Jan. 26-27.
MEET INFORMATION
The New Mexico Team Open, which is slated to a include a multitude of teams from the western half of the country, including Mountain West opponents from Boise State, Fresno State, New Mexico, San Jose State, and Utah State. The two-day competition, which begins on Friday, Jan. 26, will be held at the ABQ Convention Center – site of the next month's MW Indoor Championships. A complete schedule of events is listed below. Tickets can be purchased for $10 each day, while a two-day package can be purchased for $15. Results will be available via RecordTiming, while FloTrack will stream the meet on its subscription service.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
FRIDAY – 2:45 p.m.: Women's Weight Throw, followed by Men's Weight Throw; 3:00 p.m.: Women's Pole Vault (B), followed by Men's Pole Vault (B); 3:00 p.m.: Women's Long Jump; 3:00 p.m.: Men's Long Jump; 3:00 p.m.: Women's High Jump, followed by Men's High Jump; 3:00 p.m.: 200-Meter Run (unseeded), 3000-Meter Run, Mile Run (invitational), 400-Meter Run (unseeded), 600-Meter Run, 200-Meter Dash (seeded); SATURDAY – 8:30 a.m.: Women's Pole Vault (C), followed by Women's Pole Vault (A), Men's Pole Vault (A); 9:30 a.m.: Women's Shot Put, followed by Men's Shot Put; 10:30 a.m.: Women's Triple Jump; 10:30 a.m.: Men's Triple Jump; 10:30 a.m.: 60-Meter Hurdles (prelim), 60-Meter Dash (unseeded), 60-Meter Dash (invitational prelim), Mile Run, Women's 800-Meter Run (invitational), 60-Meter Hurdles (final), 400-Meter Dash (invitational), 60-Meter Dash (final), 800-Meter Run, 4x400-Meter Relay (unless indicated, men compete first in all running events)
AIR FORCE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Highlighted by a pair of NCAA Top 15 marks, three Falcons are listed among the nation's top 25 in the latest TFRRS standings (Jan. 22). Caiden Macktinger is ranked 11th in the pole vault behind his clearance of 17'7" from the Air Force Holiday Opener, while Texas Tanner is listed 14th in the shot put after recording an Academy Record distance of 60'8¾" at the Potts Invitational. Luke Combs holds a No. 19 placement in the 5000-meter run after following his season-opening 13:32.08 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, while Tanner is also ranked 22nd in the weight throw after resetting his own Academy Record of 68'10" at the Ralph Lindeman Classic.
WHAT'S ON DECK
The majority of Falcons will travel to Boulder next week (Feb. 2-3) for the Colorado Invitational, while the squad's multi-event athletes will return to Albuquerque for the UNM Collegiate Classic.
