Last Time Out:
Air Force Women's Soccer held a lead through the majority of the second half on Sunday afternoon against Wyoming, but The Falcons gave up the tying score in the closing minute of the contest, leaving the tally 1-1 as time expired on Sunday afternoon.
Despite an even distribution in shots at the end of the half, Air Force spent the majority of the opening half in the attacking third but were unable to threaten Wyoming keeper Haley Bartel but for one attempt by freshman Annika Jost in the 37th minute.
Early into the second half, sophomore Chase Borntreger was awarded a penalty kick in the 53rd minute off a hand ball in the box which she managed to cash in for a 1-0 lead.
From there, Wyoming ratcheted down its offensive effort, ultimately out-shooting Air Force 13-6 in the second half and forcing Falcon goalkeeper Kylie McElroy into four saves on the half.
The 1-0 shutout looked well in hand in the closing minutes, but Wyoming managed to find its equalizer with just under a minute to go. Raegan Richardson got a shot at McElroy in the center-right of the net which McElroy managed to swat away, but her rebound laid the ball at the feet of Kiley Ballek with an open net ahead.
McElroy closed her afternoon with five saves; Air Force posted a total of 12 shots on the day, with sophomore Kendall Rippley posting a team-high five attempts; Borntreger totaled three goals and two shots on-frame; The score marks her second this season and her Falcon career.
