After a hectic open to the match which saw a UNLV scoring attempt waived off for offsides, a forced save in the Rebel net after Mai Mateaki broke past the UNLV back line and a scrum in the eighth minute deep in Air Force territory, it was UNLV's Summer Pyles who struck first in the 25th minute. At 55' Air Force's efforts paid off, as Mai Mateaki found Lauren Mirande out deep, whose strike glanced off the center of the UNLV crossbar to fall off the back of Rebel keeper Hanne Breur for the junior's first score of her career, giving Air Force an opportunity to equalize.
In the 65th minute, UNLV found the 3-1 score driving up the left side. A cross set up Kennedi Schmidt for a chip-in 3-1 score, where the score would remain.
Air Force was able to create scoring opportunities down the stretch and ultimately out-shot UNLV 16-13. In the 67th minute, Kendall Rippley got a good look at the UNLV net on the left side, but her attempt went off the post and out of bounds. At 75', an Addie Doyle cross from the right wing put Air Force in a threatening position, but the Falcons' attempt was warded off in the net. At 77', Rippley redirected a pass in off of her head from outside the 18, forcing Breur into a low save.
Rippley led Air Force with five shots on the day and three on-goal; Junior Lauren Mirande and freshman Annika Jost both followed up with three apiece.
