
Women’s Basketball Improves to 6-1 With Win Over Milwaukee in Puerto Rico

BAYAMON, P.R. – Air Force Women's Basketball secured a 56-40 win on Thursday evening over the Milwaukee Panthers, improving to 6-1 on the season to match the program's best start in its Division I history.
Junior Milahnie Perry earned a game-high 18 points (5-14 FG, 8-10 FT, 2 AST, 2 BLK); Sophomore Keelie O'Hollaren posted 13 points and senior captain Madison Smith added 12; The Falcons' leading rebounder, sophomore Jayda McNabb, went scoreless on the night but contributed 10 rebounds to the Air Force score sheet.
Senior Jo Huntimer, with four assists on Thursday evening and totaling 293 for her career, surpassed Brianna Autrey-Thompson from 2018-22 to earn the second most career assists in Air Force Division I history and seventh on the all-time list.
In the opening half, the Falcons (6-1, 0-0 MW) exchanged a lead six times with Milwaukee, giving up an 11-5 disparity in fouls to lead by a single possession at the end of the first two quarters. Junior Emily Adams scored on a hook shot layup with 1:51 remaining in the half which ignited a 10-0 scoring run that extended into the second half, putting the Falcons back in the lead for the remainder of the game.
In the second half, the Falcon defense dialed in, holding the Panthers without a basket for nearly eight minutes of game time from the three-minute mark of the second quarter. Air Force extended its lead to 42-32 behind a six-point showing for Perry and a three-pointer from the left corner in the waning seconds of the third quarter – Her first of the season.
Milwaukee, intent on getting back in the contest, cut its deficit to six to start the final quarter, but a pair of Perry and-ones on back-to-back possessions driving the Milwaukee paint on both Kamy Peppler and Jada Donaldson, earned five points in 12 seconds of game time, pushing the Falcons to a 49-36-point advantage. The Falcons built out their largest lead of the game (16) from free throws to close out.
As a team, Air Force led Milwaukee in assists (11), blocks (five), bench points (22), fast break points,(10), points off turnovers (16), second chance points (13) and steals (six),
