Air Force With 6-1 Win In Home-Opener Against Weber State

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis opened its home season with a 6-1 win over Weber State Saturday night at the USAFA Indoor Tennis Courts. The win lifted the Falcons to 1-2 on the season.

Air Force took the doubles point and then went 5-1 in singles play.

The Falcons opened with wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles to take the point. Nick Vroman and Kyle Garner won at No. 1 over Marouani/Sarap 6-2 and Arjun Kersten and Jack Brown won at No. 2 over Zulch/Countinho 6-3 to clinch the doubles point.

In singles, Kersten opened with a win at No. 2 over Elyes Marouani in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. Vroman then won at No. 3 over William Zulch 6-0, 6-4. AJ Moore clinched the win for the Falcons with a win at No. 4 over Jordan Coutinho 6-4, 6-4.

The Falcons also picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 6. Phillip Deaton won at No. 1 over Tristan Sarap 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Alex Fritzinger won at No. 6 over Matte Savio 7-6 (3), 6-3.

Air Force returns to action Feb. 9 hosting North Dakota.
