BOULDER, Colo. -- Accounting for a pair of Air Force Top 20 marks, a small contingent of track athletes closed out action at the Colorado Invitational this afternoon (Feb. 3) at the CU Indoor Practice Facility in Boulder.
Sophomore India Jones and Rachel Fereday added their names to the program's all-time standings in the two longest races of the meet on Saturday. Jones, competing in her first race since the cross country opener in early September, clocked a time of 9:55.49 to finish sixth out of 20 runners in the 3000-meter run – and debut at No. 11 on the program's all-time standings with an altitude-adjusted time of 9:38.98a. Fereday became the fourth Falcon this season to debut on the Air Force Top 20 in the 800-meter run, as she posted an altitude-adjusted time of 2:15.87a (No. 17) during a top-eight outing (2:16.75 raw, eighth).
Sophomore Brenton Maddox finished within the top half of the field in his 3000-meter race (8:34.37, seventh), while senior Philip Hundl (8.17, 60-meter hurdles) and freshman Brooke Coleman (7.80, 560-meter dash) both picked up fifth-place marks in the two shortest events of the day.
Air Force heads to Chicago on Feb 9-10 to make its first appearance at the Windy City Invitational.
