
Slife earns sixth all-around title in Falcons’ 195.125 finish at Minnesota quad

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Despite a fourth-place finish in its final showing before the start of conference tournaments, the Air Force women's gymnastics team finished strong in its own right, scoring a 195.125 on Sunday afternoon at the Minnesota quad.
The Falcons' Sunday results were headlined by freshman Maggie Slife earning her sixth all-around title of 2024 behind a 39.400 showing to best 2023 All Big Ten First-Team selection Maggie Gerdes by a tenth. Junior Ayla McKean earned fourth place, scoring a 39.200 across all four events and freshman Clara Wallace closed in sixth with a 38.800.
On vault, Air Force logged a 48.375. Slife's 9.900 led the way for the Falcons in the event to earn a share of first place with Minnesota's Sarah Moraw. 9.900 is the highest individual vault score since 2013 (Jessica Wallander, 9.925), and the Falcons' best 2024 mark in the event by .125. McKean, Wallace, Sarah Willis and Gabriella Hartley rounded out the Falcons' scores, finishing between 20-24 in the standings.
Air Force finished with a 48.875 on uneven bars, led my Slife's first-place 9.925 – an individual mark good for the Falcons' second-best of 2024. McKean totaled a 9.850 to tie for fifth, and Madison Carlisle followed up earning a 9.750 to finish in 15th.
On balance beam, the Falcons earned a 48.825, improving in the event for the third-straight week to come just .250 short of the Falcon's season best set on March 1. McKean led the pack with a 9.850, finishing in ninth. Wallace and Slife both were scored a 9.825 to earn a share of 12th, with Wallace scoring her fifth-straight 9.800 or higher.
The Falcons closed on floor with a 49.050, earning the program's fifth 49-or-better finish of the year. McKean and Willis' pair of 9.850s anchored Air Force scoring in the event, with McKean tying her season best and Willis setting a new career mark.
