Thomason Breaks Home Run Record
-Jay Thomason entered the Falcons April 23 ballgame at Northern Colorado tied with Nic Ready for the most home runs in an Air Force career, and he departed Jackson Field having broken the deadlock. Thomason slugged his 14th home run of the spring and the 51st of his Falcon career in his first plate appearance, surpassing Ready's record of 50 career homers set in 2019. Having also hit his 53rd career home run on May 5, he now sits just one home runs shy of tying BYU's Sean McNaughton's Mountain West career home run record of 54 set in 2010.
-As well, Thomason leads Air Force in batting average (.352), slugging (.721), OBP (.452), runs scored (57), hits (63), RBIs (45), total bases (129) and walks (28).
Here Comes the Chuckster
-On Monday, the Mountain West announced Charlie Jones was named the conference's Player of the Week, the first such award in the sophomore's career.
-In four games last week, Jones finished 7-17 (.412) at the plate, with all seven hits going for extra bases. Jones slugged five home runs in four games, including at least one home run in all four games. The Georgia native produced his first-career multi-homer performance on May 3 to guide the Falcons to an 8-5 win over San Jose State. Jones' second home run of the day, a two-run dinger, broke a 5-5 tie in the 7th. The C3C also added two doubles to his work week.
-Astoundingly, Jones recorded 12 RBIs in Air Force's four games this past week, making him responsible for 36 percent of the Falcons runs scored in that span.
-Following his power surge, Jones now sits second on Air Force in both home runs (8) and RBIs (37). Though he falls just short of enough at-bats to qualify for the team lead, Jones' .360 average would lead all Air Force players.
-The award becomes Air Force's fourth weekly honor this season, as Jones joins Chase Spencer and Jay Thomason as previous Player of the Week honorees. Seungmin Shim was also named the conference's Pitcher of the Week earlier this season.
He's Very Much Back
-Sam Kulasingam, the reigning two-time MW Player of the Year, has overcome his initial troubles at the plate.
-Hitting just .200 over his first 13 games, Kulasingam has rebounded to own a current .304 average.
-In his past seven games, Kulasingam is 13-34 (.382) with six extra-base hits.
-Kulasingam has 18 multi-hit games in 46 games this season, and is currently in possession of a 17-game on-base streak.
-Kulasingam is 10 hits away (290) from tying Nic Ready's all-time Air Force hit record of 300, and is two doubles shy (75) of sharing Garrett Custon's all-time doubles record at Air Force.
Chase, Chase, In Your Face
-Chase Spencer has been a table-setter for the Air Force lineup.
-His 23 stolen bases lead all Mountain West players.
-A season ago, Spencer led all Mountain West players with 18 stolen bases.
-As well, Spencer has picked up at least one hit in 37 of 46 games this season.
-Spencer also currently owns a 17-game on-base streak.

-In the past 19 games, Peters is 21-68 (.309) with 10 doubles and his first-career home run on April 6.
-In that span, Peters has driven in 16 runs, with hits in 15 of 19 games.
Trippin' Out
-A regular in the Air Force lineup over the past month, Tripp Garrish has not given much reason to take him out.
-Since April 6, Garrish is 15-45 (.333).
-Garrish homered in consecutive games between April 21-23, the first two home runs of his collegiate career.
-Garrish has reached base in each of his last 10 games.
He is Shim
-In 12 starts this season, Seungmin Shim owns a 3.30 ERA and an 8.72 K/9.
-His 3.30 ERA is the third-lowest in the conference among starting pitchers.
-Shim's 73 strikeouts are also third-most in the Mountain West.
-Shim also has produced a 1.73 GO/FO ratio, crucial to success at Erdle Field.
-Shim's seven pickoffs lead the Mountain West.
-The left-hander has pitched at least 5.0 innings in 11 of 12 starts, and has reached 7.0+ innings in seven of 12 starts.
