How Air Force Stacks Up:

The Falcons currently lead the Mountain West and are eighth nationally in shutout percentage (.714).
Historic Numbers in the Net:
Junior goalkeeper Kylie McElroy, with a league-high five shutouts on the season, ranks 14th nationally in the category. Five shutouts ties third all-time in single-season shutouts in program history.
A Look at CSU:
After winning three-straight against Northern Colorado (3-0, Aug. 22), CBU (1-0, Aug. 25) and Texas State (2-1, Aug. 29), Colorado State arrives at Cadet Soccer Stadium intent on rebuilding its streak after falling in back-to-back contests at UTSA (1-0, Sept. 1) and Denver (1-0, Sept. 12). The Rams enter Mountain West play off a 1-0 victory over Omaha, handing its opponent their first loss of the season.
Sporting three goals and six points on the season, senior Nebraska transfer Maggie Altman leads CSU in both categories; Altman, along with native Colorado upperclassman duo Liv Stutzman and Mia Massey, comprise the bulk of CSU's scoring to date, with Stutzman and Massey both sporting a pair of goals apiece.
Air Force in the Polls:
The Falcons rank eighth in the United Soccer Coaches Pacific Region poll. After a 4-1-1 start to the season, Air Force was fourth in the regional rankings.
A Rising Standard:
Air Force opened 2024 with a 3-0 start, defeating Northern Colorado (4-0), California Baptist (1-0) and Hawaii (3-0) - all in shutout fashion. Three-straight shutout wins for Air Force marked the program's first such occurrence since the 1995 season, when the Falcons earned five-straight.
A 4-0 victory over Northern Colorado in the Falcons' season opener represented the program's first four-goal game and first 4-0 shutout since defeating Fresno State in similar fashion on Oct. 24, 2014; An Eleanor Musgrove hat trick was the headline of the evening in Greeley, as the junior secured Air Force's first three-goal individual performance since Mia Otero scored three against UNLV on Oct. 1, 2021.
4-1-1 to start 2024 marked the Falcons' best start since the 2019 season and best to date of the Laura Busby era of Air Force soccer.
Last Time Out:
In a dramatic back-and-forth between service academy rivals, the Air Force women's soccer team was able to buy an early lead over Army West Point, but it was the Black Knights that sung second on Friday night, claiming a 4-3 win over the Falcons.
Air Force (4-2-1) claimed a rapid 2-0 lead in the contest, gaining the lead from a one-on-one between sophomore Kendall Rippley and Army goalkeeper Sage Strohman in the 22nd minute, shortly followed by junior Caeli Sherman arcing off the crossbar into the Army net off a hitch from Peyton Ferrell just above the 18.
From there, Army turned to junior Brigid Duffy and Jordan Follenweider, who combined for a trio of goals inside of six minutes to even the score and ultimately claim a lead in the 40th minute which they would never give back to the Falcons.
At 55', Rippley, charging once again up the apex of the Army defense, chipped a pass up to freshman Mai Mateaki, who was able to slip her attempt underneath past Strohman to even the score once again. But Army's Kaelan Bradley was able to notch the game winner in the 63rd minute, finding open space at the top of the Air Force 18, and firing into the top-right of the Falcon net.
Sherman led Air Force with six shots on the evening (four on goal); Mateaki and Rippley both combined for four apiece; Air Force finished the evening with a 20-13 edge over Army in total shots; The Falcons forced Strohman into eight saves on the evening; Three goals scored against Army matches a season high for the Black Knights.
