Air Force Men’s Tennis Finishes Day One Of ITA Bedford Cup In The Mountains

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis opened day one play at the 2024 ITA Bedford Cup In The Mountains this Friday, Sept. 27, at the Air Force Outdoor Intercollegiate Tennis Courts. Senior Arjun Kersten and sophomore Alec Fritzinger led the way for the Falcons by advancing to the semifinals of their singles draws.
Air Force picked up three doubles wins and 10 singles wins on the day.
Kersten won his opening match in the Lightning draw over Connor Kruger of Weber State 6-1, 6-2 and then won his quarterfinals match over Francisco Gay of Idaho 6-4, 7-6 (7-2). Kersten will play in the semi's Saturday.
Fritzinger won his opening match in the Falcon Draw over Gustavo Campos of New Mexico State 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 and then won his quarterfinals match over Eivind Tandberg of Montana 6-2, 6-4. Fritzinger will play in the semi's Saturday.
In doubles, senior Luke Wolf and freshman Langdon Tingleaf won both of their matches to advance to the quarterfinals. The duo took down Thomas Navarro/Dusan Rsovac of UNLV 6-2 in the opening round and then defeated Theo Mottier/Franco Alexis Quijano of Weber State 7-6 (7-4) in the round of 16.
Day two action resumes tomorrow beginning at 9 am.
