Falcons Close First Day of Gary Ota Memorial Invite

FRESNO, Calif., - Air Force women's swimming and diving closed out the first day of the Gary Ota Memorial Invite, hosted by Fresno State, in third with a score of 504. The teams competing include Fresno State, San Diego State, San Jose State, and Washington State.
Air Force's top finisher of the day was sophomore Lily Larson. She clocked a time of 1:50.66 to take first in the 200 free, with Sadie Hartig behind in fifth (1:52.68). The duo also finished third and fifth in the 500 free.
In the diving portion, freshman Mariah Caldwell led the way for Air Force, scoring 274.55 to claim silver on the 3-meter. ALso in second place, Kacey Hu scored 269.30 on the 1-meter.
The 800 free relay team took third with a time of 7:36.42.
Freshman, Elizabeth Sistrunk, locked in the sixth-place spot of the 400 IM, at 4:27.05.
Naomi Furman (1:02.99) and Mandy Fleetwood (1:03.01) completed to 100 breast back-to-back, in sixth and seventh place.
In the 200 IM, Fleetwood finished the highest for Air Force, in seventh with a time of 2:06.44.
Ryan Mills earned 11 points for the Falcons with her eighth-place finish in the 50 free (23.83).
The 200 medley relay team comprised of Eliza Black, Naomi Furman, Amber Martin, and Ryan Mills placed fifth (1:45.17).
The Falcons will complete their time on the west coast on Saturday October 11, with events beginning at 10 a.m. PT/11 a.m. MT.
