
Women's Swim & Dive Defeats MW Opponent Grand Canyon, 224-147

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo., - Women's swimming and diving completed a Mountain West dual win, 224-147 over Grand Canyon on Saturday morning at Cadet Natatorium. Overall, the Falcons recorded 15 top finishes, including dive.
"We had another great weekend of racing for our team," expressed head coach Colleen Murphy. "This is a special team; they work very hard, they are united as a group, and they are talented and eager to improve. We had some lifetime best swims and some new all-time top 10 performances!"
Katie Andrist earned her second gold of the weekend with a time of 10:26.90 in the 1000 free. Abby Miller (10:36.57. followed in second, with Grace Nickell (10:51.27) and Zoe Bresnahan (10:51.49) behind in third and fourth.
After touching the wall at 56.52, Kai-Min Tsuei claimed gold in the 100 back.
In the 200 IM, Sadie Hartig (2:05.18) placed highest for Air Force, in second. Hanani Dona (2:08.27) and Addy Forbes (2:08.70) rounded out the top five of the event in fourth and fifth place.
Sophomore Lily Larson earned her second first place finish after locking in a 200 free time of 1:50.79.
On the diving side, Chloe Perkins scored 232.90 on the platform to take first. Kacey Hu logged a second-place finish with a score of 222.90.
"Our depth was on full display against Grand Canyon, as we had 1-2-3 finishes in multiple events," mentioned Murphy. "Lily Larson continues to shine in the 100 and 200 free and Katie Andrist was untouchable in the distance events this weekend. She is carrying a lot of confidence into mid-season."
Ryan Mills earned a silver finish in the 50 free at 23.77, with Amber Martin right behind in third with a time of 23.84.
Clocking a time of 2:03.59, Jena Nowoswiat placed second in the 200 fly. Natalie Doig finished at 2:06.76 for third place, while Hannah Le (2:07.97) and Kat Putchinski (2:09.65) took fourth and fifth, respectively.
Naomi Furman (1:04.04), Reagan Kampschror (1:05.58), and Maeve Linscott (1:05.73) finished as second, third, and fourth in the 100 breast.
Air Force diving will head to West Point, Ny., where they will compete against Army on November 7 & 8 at 8 a.m. MT.
