Air Force Women's Basketball gets two under the Florida sun, opening the Thanksgiving Classic taking on Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Fla. The first of two games for the Falcons is set for Thursday at 10 a.m. MT at FAU's Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena in Boca Raton, Fla.
Air Force looks to establish a winning record on the road in the Thanksgiving Classic, hosted by Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla.
Falcons at a Glance:
The Falcons, at 2-2 on the road this season, get an opportunity at a winning record away from the Academy.
Air Force scoring is currently paced by senior Milahnie Perry (15.0) and junior Jordyn Devaughn (9.3). Through the first six games of 2025-26, the Falcons rank second in the Mountain West in turnover margin (+6.676, 50th nationally) and are third compared to league opponents in both turnovers forced per game (20.33) and turnovers per game (13.7).
Last Time Out:
Late momentum for Air Force Women's Basketball on Saturday afternoon proved not enough to overcome a first-quarter barrage from UC San Diego, as the Falcons fell, 55-43, to the Tritons at LionTree Arena.
Senior Milahnie Perry's 15 points (7-18 FG) led all scorers for the game. Junior Jayda McNabb followed up, contributing 10-points and 14-rebounds to log Air Force's first double-double of the season.
The Mortar Between the Bricks:
Jayda McNabb has been a steadying force for the Falcons throughout her years at the Academy. As a sophomore, McNabb averaged 7.9 points per game in 2024-25 and earned six double doubles, leading the Falcons in rebounding while finishing ranked second in the Mountain West on the offensive glass.
This year, McNabb ranks third in the Mountain West in rebounding (8.33 rpg) and ranks 5th nationally in offensive boards (5.2). McNabb has posted double-digit scoring in two of the Falcons' last three games and is averaging 7.7 ppg.
A Boost From the Bench:
Freshman pair Bhret Clay and Jordyn Devaughn have opened 2025-26 in convincing fashion, providing a substantial boost from the Falcon bench unit. Clay, in her first six games, leads Air Force in three-point production, shooting .409 to date. On the defensive end, Clay also leads Air Force in steals, averaging 2.3 steals per game and currently ranking sixth in the Mountain West in takeaways. Devaughn, Air Force's second-highest scorer to open the season, enters Thanksgiving with four double-digit outings to open the year.
A Program First:
Thursday's outing with the Owls marks the first-ever meeting between Air Force and FAU.
Versus the American:
Air Force is 2-10 all time against current members of the American Athletic Conference, with both wins being against UTSA in 1996 and 1997.
Mile-High Trends:
In 2024-25, Air Force:
In winning games held 16 of 18 opponents to less than 70 points;
Scored more points off of turnovers than opponents in all 18 wins.
In 2024-25, Air Force was undefeated In Clune when...
Scoring 70 or more points (7-0);
Out-shooting opponents from the field (6-0).
Through the last three seasons, Air Force is:
31-17 at home;
36-4 when scoring 70 or more points (24-1 at home);
8-1 when scoring 80 or more points (7-0 at home);
8-1 when shooting 50 percent or better from the field (4-0 at home);
23-8 when holding opponents to 60 points or less (15-2 at home);
17-7 when out-rebounding opponents (11-2 at home);
18-3 when outscoring opponents in the paint (14-2 at home).
All-Time Watch:
Scoring 15 points at UC San Diego on Nov. 22, Perry is 52 points from claiming seventh all time and third in Air Force's Division I history (Raimee Beck, 2007-11).
In consecutive seasons, Perry has scored the third and fourth most points ever by a Falcon – figures which rank first and second in Air Force's Division I history (1996-current).
