
Two Falcons earned AHA Player of the Month honors

U.S.AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – A pair of Falcons earned Atlantic Hockey America Player of the Month honors for November. Senior Chris Hedden was named the Defensive Player of the Month while junior Dominik Wasik was named the Goaltender of the Month.
Hedden, from Kalamazoo, Mich., earned two Defenseman of the Week honors in November. He had a point in six of the nine games in November, posting 11 points (5-6-11) with 15 blocked shots and was a +4. His five goals and 11 points in the month are the most by any AHA defenseman. He tied his career high with two goals and had a season high three points in the road win at Sacred Heart. In the series sweep at Army he had four points (1-3-4). He scored two goals in the second game at Canisius, including the extra-attacker goal that forced overtime, as the Falcons rallied from a two-goal deficit for a 3-3 overtime tie.
Wasik, from Superior, Colo., earned two Goaltender of the Week honors in November. He led Air Force to a 6-2-1 record in nine starts with a 2.31 GAA and a .920 saves percentage. His 241 saves in November are the most by any AHA goalie. He made a career high 35 saves in the 3-2 win at Sacred Heart (Nov. 8). In the SHU series, he stopped 63 of 66 shots. In the 3-2 overtime win at Army, he made 31saves, the second most of his career. In each game at Canisius, he made 29 saves as Air Force took four of the six points in the series on the road.
Air Force is 7-2-1 in the last 10 games and 8-6-2 overall this season. The Falcons (5-4-1 and in fourth place in the AHA) close out the first half of the season with a home series against conference rival Robert Morris, Dec. 5-6, at Cadet Ice Arena.
