Falcons Close Boise State Dual with Second-Place 194.500

BOISE, Idaho – Air Force Women's Gymnastics, taking on Boise State in dual action at ExtraMile Arena on Friday evening, finished with a 194.500 to close in second behind the Broncos' 195.800.
Sophomore Maggie Slife closed the evening in Boise as the lone all-arounder of the meet, scoring a 39.350 across all four events and top-three finishes on bars, beam and floor, finishing with the top score on floor.
Opening up on uneven bars, Air Force scored a 48.250, led by a powerful 9.875 performance by Slife to notch the Falcons' second-best score of the season on the event and a second-place finish. Gabriella Hartley was the next Falcon up on the scoresheet, scoring a 9.725.
Moving to vault, the Falcons put up their second-best score of the season and the best in Air Force's last four competitions, ending with a 48.875 led by junior Kylee Greene's 9.850, who stuck a Yurchenko full to earn a career best and finish in second place. Slife, stepping out a bit on her landing, still finished strong, earning a 9.800 to close in sixth place.
On floor, Slife led a 48.650 team effort, scoring a 9.825 to close the night with a first-place finish; Freshman Alyssa Bigler's 9.725 earned a place in seventh and a trio of 9.700's for Greene, Gabriella Meccia, and Sarah Willis placed eighth on the night.
Finishing the evening out on balance beam, Gabriella Hartley came close to a career best, finishing with a 9.800 to close out in fifth place. Slife, scoring a 9.850 and matching the second-highest score of the season for the Falcons, finished in third.
