Sophomore Air Force gymnast Maggie Slife was tabbed as College Gym News Most Valuable Gymnast, the platform announced on Monday morning in its annual end-of-season awards.
College Gym News is proud to announce its fifth annual end-of-season award recipients. Members of the CGN staff nominated individuals and staff in 11 categories based on specified criteria. From there, the field was narrowed and editors voted on remaining candidates.
Slife, the reigning Mountain West Gymnast of the Year, dominated in 2025 from start to finish. The sophomore finished with three top 10 all-time finishes in the all around, including a record-breaking 39.500 to cap off her season at NCAA Regionals in Salt Lake City.
Slife built a standalone resume in the Mountain West in 2025, earning conference Gymnast and Floor Specialist of the Year accolades after garnering both the highest all-around and floor NQS among conference competitors this season. Additionally, she earned All-Mountain West recognition, landing first-team recognition in the all-around and on both vault and floor, while also being tabbed a MW second-team honoree on bars.
Earning 15 total weekly conference honors in 2025, Slife stood as the most consistent top scorer across the conference on a week-by-week basis. The sophomore was a nine-time Mountain West Gymnast of the Week in 2025, proving the top all-arounder each week Air Force competed. Slife closed 10 of eleven meets in 2025 as the all-around champ and scored 9.900 or better seven times in 2025, posting season highs of 9.900 (vault), 9.925 (bars), 9.900 (beam) and 9.925 (floor).
