
Air Force places two on AHCA All-American Scholars Team

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force rising senior Holt Oliphant and rising junior Brendan Gibbons were named the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Krampade All-American Scholar team.
Oliphant, an assistant captain last season, carries a cumulative GPA of 3.82 as a military and strategic studies major. A three-time member of the AHA all-academic team and two-time CSC all-district member, this is his second year on the AHCA team. A forward from Northbrook, Ill., he played in 38 games this past season and had two goals and seven assists for nine points with 25 blocked shots.
Gibbons, a rising junior, carries a 3.77 GPA as an operations research major. A two-time member of the AHA all-academic team and a CSC academic all-district selection, this is his first season on the AHCA team. A right winger from Wakefield, R.I., he played in 39 games and was third on the team with nine goals and fourth with 18 points this past season.
To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester, and had to appear in 40% of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders. Schools also were required to be members of the AHCA.
