BASE ACCESS
Access procedures at the U.S. Air Force Academy continue to affect athletic events. While the installation remains open, anyone without a DoD ID card must obtain a visitor pass to enter the base.
New this year: Passes will now be issued monthly instead of requiring a separate submission for each event. This means ticket holders only need to complete the form once per month to gain access to all events during that time. Ticket holders can request a base pass using this link.
After registering, you will receive a message on our phone to present at the gate when entering the Academy. Fans must also present their game tickets at each venue. All tickets and credentialed attendees can enter through the North or South gate. North gate is recommended for access to athletic fields.
All-Time Versus the Mountain Lions:
Air Force has played just one preseason match against local opponent, UCCS. The match took place on August 23, 2009 at Cadet Soccer Stadium, with a 0-0 draw in overtime.
Last Time Out:
Air Force women's soccer (1-3-2) played a back-and-forth match and drew 2-2, with Eastern Washington (3-2-2) on Sunday September 7 at the EWU Soccer Stadium. The Falcons compiled 15 total shots with four on goal, a pair of goals from Zahra Friess and Annika Jost, and six saves by Trishelle Lopez.
The first half saw balanced possession on both sides of the pitch until Friess was able to break away and put the Falcons on the board first in the 31st minute. The freshman broke the deadlock after finding space down the left wing and curled a left-footed shot past the keeper, to net her first collegiate goal, 1-0. At the end of the first half, the two programs were tied with a trio of shots on goal apiece but Air Force still had hold of the lead.
Early into the second half, EWU managed to slide the ball to the bottom right of the net, leveling the score at the 50' mark. Ten minutes later, the Eagles pushed ahead to claim a 2-1 advantage. Air Force did not hold back, challenging Eastern Washington for an equalizer to tie the match at 2-2. Team captain Raine Komata moved the ball past midfield, setting up Jost in the attacking third. Jost played the chance well and found a slot after pulling the keeper off the line to even the match at 2-2 at the 74' mark.
Despite a determined push, the Falcons were unable to shift back into a lead.
