A LOOK AT THE QUAKERS
Penn will take the pitch under the command of head coach Brian Gill in his eighth season at the helm. 2024 was a historic season for Penn, as the coaches earned Ivy League Coaching Staff of the Year and USC 2024 DI Men's Northeast Region Staff of the Year, guiding the Quakers to a historic 13-2-1 overall record, a perfect Ivy League season, and numerous weeks in the Top 25 of the United Soccer Coaches (USC) poll.
Patrick Cayelli is a key figure on the offense, leading Penn with two goals and three assists. Five Quakers have tallied strikes on the season for a 1.40 goals per game average. David Howard played every minute in goal for Penn this season. He has a .762 save percentage and gives up just 1.00 goal per game on average.
So far this season, the Quakers are 1-2-2, with their win coming in the 4-0 routing of Loyola Maryland in the season opener. Air Force has played Penn just once before, falling 2-1 in Philly, in 2012.
PICKING UP SPEED
For the third-straight match, AF outshot their opponent. Despite being significantly outshot by opponents in the early season (18-61 in the first three matches), Air Force has averaged 12.1 shots in the last four contests, testament to the steady improvement of the young team under coach Dalby and staff.
OLIVER BECKER WINS CADET ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Air Force co-team captain C3C Oliver Becker was instrumental in a pair of positive results over the weekend, helping the Falcons to their first win of the season in a 2-1 comeback against Mercer, and come-from-behind draw against South Dakota Mines. Becker, the team's assists leader, facilitated Air Force goals in each game, tallying a pair of assists over the weekend. He also led the Falcon offense in shots, taking seven attempts across both matches including a career-best four shot attempts against South Dakota Mines.

The Falcon men's soccer team battled from behind to play South Dakota Mines to a draw at one. Air Force, with its third positive result this season. The Falcons continued to show improvement in possession management and offensive opportunities as they outshot the Rockers, 13-12, marking the third-straight match with 13 shot attempts.

The Falcons remain on the eastern seaboard to close out the non-conference schedule against Navy on Tuesday. September 23. Action is scheduled for 7pm ET for both matches The last time AF met with Navy, the Falcons downed the Midshipmen, 2-0, in Annapolis.

Utah Valley remained the only unbeaten WAC team after improving to 6-0-0, while still yet to allow a goal thus far this season. The No. 16 ranked Wolverines became the first WAC program to shut out six straight opponents at any time during a single season after blanking UC San Diego 3-0 on Sept. 15. Both California Baptist and San José State have opened the year 4-1-1, while Grand Canyon checked in 4-2 after its first six starts.
SESSIONS' CLEAN SHEET STREAK CONTINUES
Utah Valley redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Kolby Sessions has continued to impress thus far in 2025 for the unbeaten Wolverines. Sessions has registered an impressive 540 consecutive shutout minutes to help lead Utah Valley to an undefeated 6-0-0 start. Sessions was one of three goalkeepers in NCAA Division I with a spotless goals against average and with his six shutouts as of Sept. 17.
CBU EARNS A KEY WIN ON THE ROAD AT TULSA
Despite having a road showdown with national top-10 foe West Virginia cancelled last weekend due to field conditions, California Baptist made the most of a brief trip eastward on Sept. 16 at Tulsa. The Lancers scored two goals within 35 seconds of one another in the opening half and outshot the Golden Hurricane by a 12-4 margin during the second half in a 3-1 win. CBU striker Blake D'Agostino tied the conference scoring lead with a goal in his fifth straight match, converting a penalty at 9:58 to push the Lancers in front 2-0. D'Agostino improved to 3-for-3 on penalty kick attempts thus far in the 2025 season.
SDSU BLANKS YALE 2-0 TO BEGIN THE NEW WEEK
San Diego State slowed a four-match losing skid by earning a 2-0 shutout victory over Yale on Sept. 15. A goal by defender Christian Engmann just 2:57 into the contest provided the winning score for the Aztecs, with an 87th minute insurance goal settling the final score line. Engmann has made all three of his goals count this season, as each has been credited as a match winner for San Diego State.
SJSU GOALKEEPER GUERRA ALSO PUTTING TOGETHER A SPECIAL START
San José State goalkeeper Edgar Guerra has himself been impressive in net for the Spartans during a 4-1-1 start to the 2025 season. Guerra has registered shutouts in four of his six starts, including two straight at Sacramento State on Sept. 7 and against CSUN on Sept. 11, to rank eighth in NCAA Division I as of Sept. 17.
