Air Force Men’s Tennis Completes Day One at Reno Invite

Air Force men's tennis opened its fall season in day one competition at the Reno Invite Friday at the McArthur Tennis Center on the University of Nevada campus in Reno, Nevada.
The Falcons picked up four wins on the day, two in singles and two in doubles.
In doubles, the duo of Jack Brown and Tyler Leaird defeated Hysmans/Valente of Nevada 8-7 (5). In addition, the pair of Phillip Deaton and Matthew Staton defeated Savkin/Gonzalez of UC Davis 8-6.
In singles, Brown at Staton picked up wins. Brown defeated Perry Di Giulio of UC Davis in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. Staton defeated Rithvik Katpelly of Davis 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-0.
"Our first day of the fall, it was exciting to see the guys compete," head coach Evan Urbina said. "We need to continue to build our match toughness. Our doubles made improvements and we're focused on getting out of our comfort zone and making the right shots and plays at the right times. Jack and Ty did that well to win their first match in a breaker. We're all looking forward to tomorrow."
Day two of the three-day event resumes tomorrow, Saturday.
