SEATTLE – Backed by Air Force Top 10 times from senior India Jones, junior Ella Johnson, and classmate Anna Harden, the Falcons' distance squad kicked off the weekend with a strong showing against some of the nation's elite at the Husky Classic on Friday (Feb. 13) night in Seattle.
Jones and Johnson combined for two of the three-fastest times in the 5000-meter run, as the pair finished second and third, respectively, in a 33-runner event. Harden opened the Falcons' afternoon at Dempsey Indoor with a 9:27.21 finish in the 3000-meter run. Finishing within the top 30 (28th) of a field that featured 80 runners, the junior deleted nearly three seconds off her previous best to move up to No. 8 on the Academy's all-time standings.
On the men's side, senior Jayden Nats used a time of 13:46.52 to win the 5000-meter run, while classmates Brenton Maddox and Tanner Lindahl finished eighth (13:57.69) and 12th (14:00.64), respectively, in the 34-runner field. The latter pair impacted the Air Force Record Book with their races, as Maddox debuted at No. 15 and Lindahl entered the all-time standings at No. 19.
