U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force Women's Basketball, after trailing early, surged past San Jose State in the second half, scoring a 77-61 win and the season sweep over the Spartans on Saturday afternoon in Clune Arena.
Falcon senior Milahnie Perry finished with a game high 20 points, earning 14 at the free throw line on 16 attempts – figures which both marked career highs for Perry while also setting season benchmarks for all players in the Mountain West in 2025-26. Saturday's finish lifted Perry to third all-time in career scoring, surpassing Air Force alumna Stacey Goss (1982-86) for the distinction. Rounding out top performers for the Falcons on Saturday were juniors Keelie O'Hollaren and Jayda McNabb, who both scored 18 and 14 points respectively while both adding seven rebounds apiece.
Air Force trailed the Spartans 16-12 at the close of the first quarter. After an 11-2 San Jose start, Air Force pulled back into a one-point game behind a Perry-fueled 8-0 run, but a three from SJSU's Maya Anderson and basket from Katarina Anderson on the resulting Spartan possession pulled San Jose State back ahead. Perry's eight points for the first quarter paced all scoring in the first 10 minutes.
O'Hollaren's second made triple of the afternoon got the Falcons back to 29-27 and a baseline jumper two possessions later tied the game. Spartan Amelie Sitterud answered on the opposite end with a corner triple of her own to regain the lead for San Jose State, ultimately ending a 33-31 SJSU advantage at the halftime buzzer.
Air Force ratcheted up its defensive effort in the third quarter, forcing the Spartans into eight turnovers in the period and 15 total for the second half while allowing the Falcons to pull ahead on the scoreboard. Air Force and San Jose State traded three-pointers on each end of the court to exchange ownership of the lead, but McNabb sunk her second three of the day to get the Falcons back ahead – this time for good. Air Force poured in a pair of scoring runs in the third quarter, outscoring SJSU 25-13 resulting in a 56-46 Falcon lead to start the final quarter.
In the fourth, San Jose State worked its way back to a six-point deficit (57-51) with seven minutes remaining in the game to threaten a comeback. An and-one and converted free throw attempt for senior Emily Adams (6 PTS) and breakaway score from Clay on her own steal lifted the Falcons into a double-digit advantage that held the remainder of the game. From Adams' basket to the final buzzer, Air Force held the Spartans to 2-6 from the field and outscored SJSU 20-10 – a streak punctuated by freshman Eva Love scoring a three-pointer on the first field goal attempt of her collegiate career.
Air Force (12-13, 6-9 MW) led San Jose State (3-23, 1-14 MW) in field goals made (21), three-point attempts (27), free throws made (28, season high) and attempted (34), rebounds (36), assists (12), steals (12), points from turnovers (29, season high), second-chance points (six) and fast-break points (15). 28 made free throws for Air Force represents the most by a Mountain West team in 2025-26 in a single game.
With the win, the Falcons notched their fourth victory in five games, a third-straight win over San Jose State and fifth in the last six contests between the two programs. Air Force improved to 14-15 all time against SJSU and 7-6 in series home games.
