COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force Women's Gymnastics planted its flag on all of the weekly Mountain West top honors for week six of competition. Falcon gymnasts Maggie Slife and Alyssa Bigler earned a spot on all five top awards for Feb. 17, with Slife being named Mountain West Gymnast of the Week and Specialist of the Week in all four events. For the first time in 2026, Bigler was named Co-Vault Specialist of the Week, earning a share of the award with teammate Slife.
Slife scored an Air Force and Mountain West record 39.650 at the Metroplex Challenge on Feb. 14 against No. 6 Georgia, No. 10 Stanford and No. 20 Cal on Feb. 14 in Fort Worth, surpassing her own all-time 39.500 established at NCAA Regionals in 2025. The junior went 9.900 or better in four events, topped off by scoring a pair of 9.925s on both vault and bars. Slife's vault finish was good for a share of first at the meet with sophomore Bigler's 9.925 to earn Co-Vault Specialist of the Week honors with her Falcon teammate (Vault – 9.925; Bars – 9.925; Beam – 9.900; Floor – 9.900). As a whole, Air Force closed out its showing at the Metroplex Challenge with a 195.750 – a score good for the program's third-highest all-time score.
The collection of honors for Air Force continues to mount, with Slife's running total sitting at 23 this season and Bigler earning her fifth top conference award in 2026. Slife collects her 16th-straight Gymnast of the Week honor and sixth-consecutive Bars and Floor Specialist accolades. Slife currently ranks seventh in the nation as an all-arounder, fifth nationally on bars and 19th on floor. Slife, Bigler and senior Kylee Greene hold the top three positions as Mountain West all around gymnasts in 2026.
