RENO, Nev. – An Air Force Record from sophomore Morgan Glaser and the three-best pentathlon performances in program history headlined an impressive start for the Falcons at the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships, which kicked off this morning (Feb. 26) in Reno.
Glaser, competing in the first multi-meet of her collegiate career, accumulated 3752 points to finish sixth in the 18-athlete event and add more than 150 points to the previous Air Force Record. In fact, all three Air Force pentathletes – Glaser, junior Kayla Beach, sophomore Sarah Reynolds – bettered the previous program standard, while combining for three of the meet's five individual event victories.
During her record-setting pentathlon performance, which improved the program's 21-year-old Sophomore Class Record by 166 points, Glaser also accounted for the second-best high jump and sixth-fastest hurdles (8.81, 950 points) in Academy history. Clearing a meet-best 1.84 meters (6'0½") for 1029 points in her signature event, Glaser became just the second Air Force female to clear six feet in the high jump, while adding two inches to Shelley Spires' 10-year-old Class Record. After making her debut in the shot put (8.59 meters/28'2¼", 438 points) and long jump (4.88 meters/16'0¼", 527 points), Glaser picked up a first-place finish in her inaugural 800-meter run, clocking 808 points in a 2:22.12 finish that bettered the field by nearly two seconds.
An eighth-place finish from Beach gave Air Force multiple scoring finishes in the pentathlon for the first time in program history. Beach amassed 3722 points – a 128-point improvement from the (then) program record he set earlier this season – for her second MW scoring finish in as many years. Headlining her career day was an 822-point distance of 5.91 meters (19'4¾") in the long jump – the second-best distance in Academy history and a mark that broke Katie Thompson's 2023 Junior Class Record. Beach also clocked the program's seventh-fastest hurdles (8.85) for 941 points, while matching her personal-best clearance of 1.63 meters (5'4¼", No. 24 all-time) for 771 points in the high jump. The junior completed her pentathlon with a 507-point distance of 9.66 meters (31'8½") in the shot put and a 681-point time of 2:30.94 in the 800-meter run.
Reynolds rounded out the Falcons' standout trio of pentathlon performers, as she improved her personal total by 150 points to finish with 3634 points – a tally the gave the Falcons' current roster of multi-event athletes a 1-2-3 ranking atop the Academy's all-time standings. Contributing to her score was a career-best high jump clearance of 1.63 meters (5'4¼") – 771-point leap that equaled the No. 24 mark in program history. Reynolds also tallied 895 points in the hurdles (9.07), 770 points in the 800-meter run (2:23.98), 691 points in the long jump (5.47 meters, 17'11½") and 507 points in the shot put (9.65 meters, 31'8").
The women also captured the Falcons' first medal of the 2026 championships, as junior Scarlet Fetterolf, sophomore Ella Pears, junior Rachel Fereday and classmate Anna Harden finished third in the distance medley relay. In their first DMR of the season, the quartet combined for a time of 11:35.25 to secure the program's 10th conference medal in that event. In addition, with an altitude-adjusted time of 11:27.30, they accounted for the fourth-fastest time in Air Force history.
In the only field final of the day, freshman Julie Segroves became the sixth Falcon to surpass 13 feet in the pole vault. With a career-best clearance of 13'1" (3.99 meters}, Segroves finished sixth in the 19-vaulter event – the best finish by a conference freshman. Segroves was one of two Falcons to PR in the pole vault, as junior Karli Neff cleared 3.84 meters (12'7¼") to move up to No. 15 on the program's all-time standings. Senior India Jones rounded out the Falcons' opening day scorers, as she clocked an eighth-place time of 16:40.65 in the 5000-meter run.
