No. 13 Air Force Heads to California for MPSF Championships

The 13th-ranked Air Force men's gymnastics team returns to action this Saturday (April 4), when it travels to Berkeley, Calif., for the 2026 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships. The meet will pit the Falcons against top-ranked Oklahoma, third-ranked Stanford, and eighth-ranked California.
MEET INFORMATION
The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships will take place inside Haas Pavilion on the University of California, Berkeley, campus at 4:00 pm (PT) on Saturday, April 4. Results will be available via Virtius, while Overnight will steam the meet through its subscription service (direct links are available below).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Oklahoma and Stanford, who have combined for nine of the last 10 NCAA titles – and every MPSF championship since 2004, enter the weekend ranked first (326.833) and third (321.583), respectively, in the national standings, while host California is listed eighth with a four-score average of 313.967. The Sooners' Nathan Roman (parallel bars, 14.200) and Kelton Christiansen (high bar – 14.083) lead the nation on their respective events, while the Bears boast the NCAA leaders on the vault (Jasper Smith-Gordon – 14.300) and in the all-around (Matteo Bardana – 77.250)
CALIFORNIA DREAMIN'
Two Falcons hail from the state of California, as Keenan Berrong and Ryan Jacobsen grew up relatively close to this weekend's competition site. Berrong graduated from South Sutter Charter School in Woodland, while Jacobson prepped at Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove.
AIR FORCE IN THE RANKINGS
The Falcons are ranked 13th in the NCAA, with a four-score average of 307.300, while holding a top-10 event rankings on the pommel horse (10th, 52.017). Individually, Sam Brown is ranked 10th in the nation on the pommel horse with a four-score mark of 14.000, while Jack Matlock is just behind him on that event with a 13.883 mark (13th) and Tai Gopaul is ranked 15th on the high bar with a 13.383 average.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
The collegiate season ends on April 17-18, when the top teams and gymnasts from around the country converge on the State Farm Center in Champaign, Ill., for the 2026 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships. Selections for the championships will be announced next week.
