SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Four members of the Air Force men's gymnastics team collected all-conference honors from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation this afternoon (April 6), after leading the team at last week's conference championship meet. Sophomores Jared Fry and Jack Thomas Foltyn led the way with multiple all-MPSF honors.
Fry, who won the MPSF all-around title at the conference championships, also claimed all-league honors on the floor exercise and still rings, while Foltyn was named all-MPSF on the vault and parallel bars after leading the Falcons on those events. Seniors Sam Brown and Tai Gopaul rounded out the Falcons' list of all-conference honorees, as the pair lead Air Force with fourth-place finishes on the pommel horse and high bar, respectively, at the MPSF Championships.
It is the third all-MPSF award for Gopaul, who was also named all-conference as a sophomore (parallel bars) and junior (high bar), and the first all-MPSF for the other three honorees.
The top gymnasts from each school in each event at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships are an automatic selection, while one additional gymnast per event is chosen as an at-large selection based on the highest remaining score, regardless of team.
Air Force will close out the season at the NCAA Championships in Champaign, Ill., on April 17-18.
