Registration & Payment
How do I register for AF Sports Camps?
Registration is completed online only through ACTIVE. Select your sport from the AF Sports Camps website and click the registration button on that sport’s webpage.
Registration for 2027 AF Sports Camps opens December 7, 2026. A credit or debit card is required.
Is a deposit required to secure a spot?
A $150 deposit is required when the payment-plan option is available. The remaining balance must be paid in full by April 30, 2027.
Registrations completed after April 30 must be paid in full at the time of registration.
Early Bird registration requires payment in full and does not qualify for the payment-plan option.
How do I verify my registration or make a payment?
Families can use their ACTIVE account to review registrations, make payments, update available information and confirm whether any required items remain incomplete.
Does ACTIVE charge a registration fee?
Yes. ACTIVE charges a processing fee at the time of registration. This fee is separate from the advertised AF Sports Camps price and is paid by the registrant.
Are Sports Camps discounts available?
Early Bird pricing is available to eligible AF Sports Camps registrants from the opening of registration through January 31, 2027. Payment in full is required to receive the Early Bird rate.
Early Bird pricing applies only to AF Sports Camps. It does not apply to Elite Camps, showcases or other separately operated programs.
AF Sports Camps does not offer sibling, military, group, employee or multi-camp discounts.
When does registration close?
Registration remains open until the published deadline or until the camp reaches capacity, whichever occurs first. Many camps fill before the deadline, so families are encouraged to register early.
Walk-up registration is not guaranteed and may not be available.
What happens if a camp reaches capacity?
When available, families may join the waitlist through ACTIVE. Joining a waitlist does not guarantee admission.
If space becomes available, families will be contacted using the information listed in their ACTIVE account.
Can I transfer my camper to another sport or session?
Transfer requests must be submitted before camp begins. Transfers are based on eligibility, available space, housing availability and approval by AF Sports Camps.
Any difference in price must be paid before the transfer is completed. Campers may not switch sports after camp begins unless authorized by AF Sports Camps.
Can I change between boarder and commuter registration?
Requests are based on age eligibility, available housing, camp capacity and applicable deadlines. Any additional balance must be paid before an upgrade to boarder status is completed.
Changing from boarder to commuter status does not automatically qualify the registrant for a refund.
What is the refund policy?
AF Sports Camps generally has a no-refund policy. Exceptions may be considered for a documented medical emergency or qualifying family hardship. All requests are reviewed individually and approval is not guaranteed.
Medical refund requests must include documentation from a licensed medical provider. Family-hardship requests must be submitted in writing with enough information for AF Sports Camps to review the circumstances.
Approved refunds are subject to a $50 processing fee. Refund requests will not be accepted after June 30, 2027. ACTIVE processing fees and unused Bolt Bucks are nonrefundable.
Are fees prorated for missed days or early departure?
Camp fees are not prorated for late arrival, early departure, homesickness, scheduling conflicts, disciplinary removal or missed activities.
A documented medical emergency or qualifying family hardship may be reviewed under the refund policy.
What happens if AF Sports Camps cancels a camp?
If AF Sports Camps cancels a camp, registered families will receive instructions regarding available refund or transfer options.
ACTIVE processing fees are governed by ACTIVE’s policies and may not be refundable.
Are AF Sports Camp scholarships available?
No. NCAA rules prohibit AF Sports Camps from providing scholarships or financial assistance to individual campers.
Camper Eligibility
What ages can attend AF Sports Camps?
Age and grade requirements vary by sport and session. For most camps, commuter campers are between ages 8 and 18. Review the individual sport page for exact requirements before registering.
Elite Camps and showcases have separate eligibility requirements.
How old must a camper be to stay overnight?
Boarder campers must be at least 12 years old.
Younger campers may participate when their sport offers an eligible commuter option.
What is the difference between a boarder and commuter?
A boarder stays overnight in the Cadet dormitories and receives housing, meals, transportation between scheduled activities, evening recreation and overnight supervision.
A commuter does not stay overnight. Commuters are dropped off each morning and picked up after daily camp activities. Lunch is included on applicable full camp days.
Can my camper participate in more than one sport?
A camper may register for camps held during different sessions if the camper meets each camp’s eligibility requirements.
Campers register for one sport during each session and may not move between different sport camps during the week.
How many campers participate in each sport?
Enrollment varies by sport based on available facility space, equipment, coaching staff and program format. Some camps may include fewer than 40 campers, while larger camps may include several hundred.
Check-In & Pickup
When do campers check in?
Session 1 boarders and commuters check in on Sunday, June 13, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at the Cadet Field House.
Session 2 boarders and commuters check in on Sunday, June 20, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at the Cadet Field House.
Session 3 is commuter-only. Campers will check in Monday morning, June 28. Exact Session 3 instructions will be provided on each sport’s webpage.
Some sports, including Golf commuters, may have special check-in instructions. Always review the individual sport page before arriving.
What happens during check-in?
Campers check in with their sport, meet coaches and staff, confirm required information, receive their AF Sports Camps credential and receive important instructions for the week.
After check-in, commuters may leave with their families. Boarders board designated transportation for the dormitory arrival process.
What if we cannot attend the scheduled check-in?
Contact AF Sports Camps as soon as possible if your camper will miss or arrive late to check-in. Alternate arrangements are not guaranteed and must be coordinated in advance.
Do not report directly to a dormitory or sport facility without instructions from AF Sports Camps.
Where do commuter campers report each morning?
Daily drop-off and pickup locations vary by sport. Families will receive the correct location, arrival time, parking information and pickup procedures through the sport’s webpage and final camp email.
Campers should not be dropped off unless authorized camp personnel are present.
What if my camper arrives late or needs to leave early?
Notify the sport’s coaching staff or AF Sports Camps in advance. Campers may move between facilities during the day, so an unannounced early pickup may result in delays.
Campers must be properly signed out before leaving.
Who may pick up my camper?
Campers may be released only to a parent, legal guardian or authorized adult listed in the camper’s registration information or approved by the parent or guardian.
The person picking up the camper may be required to present a government-issued photo ID. Contact AF Sports Camps in advance if pickup arrangements change.
When do Sessions 1 and 2 end?
Most Session 1 and Session 2 camps conclude at 12:00 p.m. Friday. All campers must be picked up no later than 12:30 p.m.
Review the individual sport page for any exceptions.
Base Access
All visitors must comply with current U.S. Air Force Academy installation-access requirements.
Does camp registration automatically provide base access?
No. Registration for AF Sports Camps does not automatically grant access to the Air Force Academy. Families must complete all applicable installation-access requirements by the published deadline.
Final access instructions will be sent to registered families before camp.
What information is required for base access?
Families may be required to submit identifying information before camp and present acceptable government-issued photo identification when entering the installation.
Foreign-national visitors may be required to provide additional information, including a copy of their passport, before arriving.
What if we have not received base-access approval?
Contact AF Sports Camps before traveling to the Academy. Do not wait until check-in to resolve missing or incomplete access information.
Visitors who do not meet installation-access requirements may be delayed or denied entry. AF Sports Camps cannot override decisions made by installation security personnel.
Can parents go into the Cadet dormitories?
No. The Cadet dormitory area is secured. Only credentialed campers and authorized personnel are permitted into the dormitory area.
Parents may remain with their campers inside the Cadet Field House during Sunday check-in.
Boarders & Housing
Where do boarders stay?
Boarder campers stay in Cadet dormitories on the United States Air Force Academy campus. Male and female campers are housed in separate designated areas.
What bedding and personal items should boarders bring?
Boarders should bring:
- Twin-size sheets or a sleeping bag
- Blanket and pillow
- Bath towels and washcloths
- Shower shoes
- Shampoo, soap and deodorant
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Sunscreen and personal-care items
- A light jacket or windbreaker
Review the complete packing list before arriving.
Can campers request a roommate?
Yes. Boarders may submit a roommate request during registration. Mutual requests should be submitted by both campers.
AF Sports Camps will make reasonable efforts to honor requests, but assignments depend on age, gender, sport, available rooms and operational requirements. Roommate requests are not guaranteed.
How are boarders supervised?
Authorized cadet and adult camp personnel provide supervision, accountability, guidance and assistance during evening and overnight hours. Campers receive dormitory rules and safety instructions upon arrival.
Are dorm rooms available between Sessions 1 and 2?
No. Dormitory rooms are not available Friday or Saturday between sessions. These days are used for cleaning, maintenance and preparation for the next session.
Families attending consecutive sessions must arrange their own housing and supervision between sessions.
Can a parent deliver a forgotten item to a boarder?
Parents may not deliver items directly to the secured dormitory area. Contact AF Sports Camps for instructions before bringing an essential or forgotten item.
Can a boarder leave camp during the week?
A boarder may leave only with an authorized adult and after completing the required sign-out process. Advance notice is strongly encouraged.
Meals & Dietary Needs
Are meals included?
Boarders in Sessions 1 and 2 receive breakfast, lunch and dinner during camp. Commuter campers receive lunch on applicable full camp days unless otherwise stated on the individual sport page.
What if my camper has dietary restrictions?
Dietary restrictions and food allergies must be identified during registration. A limited number of options are available for common dietary needs, including gluten-free and vegetarian meals.
Families with significant or medically required dietary needs should review the Housing & Meals page and contact AF Sports Camps before registering to determine whether the camper’s needs can be safely accommodated.
Bolt Bucks
What are Bolt Bucks?
Bolt Bucks are optional prepaid funds loaded onto the barcode of a camper’s AF Sports Camps credential.
They may be used at participating Sports Camps locations for eligible snacks, drinks and merchandise. Regularly scheduled meals are already included.
Can I reload Bolt Bucks during camp?
Yes. Parents may contact AF Sports Camps during camp to add Bolt Bucks to their camper’s credential.

Are unused Bolt Bucks refundable?
No. Unused Bolt Bucks are nonrefundable. Campers should use their remaining balance before leaving camp.
Transportation
Does AF Sports Camps provide airport transportation?
Airport transportation is available only for eligible boarder campers traveling through Colorado Springs Airport (COS).
AF Sports Camps does not provide transportation to or from Denver International Airport or other airports.
What flight times should we schedule?
Families should review the Transportation page before booking travel. Flights must fall within the published arrival and departure windows for AF Sports Camps to provide transportation.
Transportation outside the published windows is the responsibility of the camper’s family.
What if a camper’s flight is delayed or canceled?
Notify AF Sports Camps immediately using the transportation contact information provided before camp. Families must also update the camper’s flight information if the airline changes the itinerary.
AF Sports Camps will make reasonable efforts to adjust transportation, but service outside the established shuttle schedule cannot be guaranteed.
Can a boarder bring a vehicle to camp?
Boarders who drive themselves may park in the designated area during camp. Boarders are not permitted to use their vehicle during the camp session.
Medical & Safety
Is medical staff available during camp?
AF Sports Camps provides medical personnel to support campers during the camp experience. Staff follow established procedures for injuries, illness and medical emergencies.
Is a physical required?
A physical is not generally required. However, all required medical and insurance information must be completed during registration.
Review the Sports Medicine page for current requirements before arriving at camp.
Can campers bring medications?
Yes. All medications must be disclosed during registration and brought in the original pharmacy-labeled or manufacturer-labeled container.
Inhalers, EpiPens and other emergency medications must be clearly labeled with the camper’s name. Review the Sports Medicine page for medication forms and check-in instructions.
What happens if my camper is injured or becomes ill?
Camp staff will evaluate the situation, provide appropriate initial care and contact the parent or guardian when necessary. Emergency services will be contacted when immediate medical attention is required.
Parents must keep emergency-contact and insurance information current in ACTIVE.
What happens during severe weather or poor air quality?
Camper safety takes priority over the planned schedule. Activities may be delayed, relocated, modified or canceled because of lightning, severe storms, extreme heat, poor air quality or other unsafe conditions.
AF Sports Camps follows applicable Air Force Academy safety and emergency procedures.
Can accommodations be requested for a camper?
Families should contact AF Sports Camps before registering if a camper requires an accommodation, additional support or accessibility consideration.
Requests are reviewed individually based on the camper’s needs, available resources, facility limitations and the essential requirements of the camp.
During Camp
Who coaches AF Sports Camps?
Sport camps are led by Air Force Academy coaches and staff. Additional qualified coaches and instructors may assist based on enrollment and the needs of each camp.
What should campers bring each day?
Campers should bring:
- A clearly labeled refillable water bottle
- Sunscreen
- Required sport-specific equipment
- Appropriate athletic clothing and footwear
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Required medication and medical supplies

Can campers bring cell phones?
Yes. Cell phones are permitted, but they should not be used during sport instruction or scheduled activities unless authorized by camp staff.
Expensive electronics and other high-value personal items are discouraged. AF Sports Camps is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen property.
How can parents contact their camper?
Parents should use the camp contact information provided in the final camp email for urgent matters. Camp staff can assist with contacting a camper when necessary.
In an emergency, campers should immediately notify a coach, counselor or medical staff member.
What do boarders do in the evening?
Boarders participate in supervised evening recreation after sport instruction and dinner. Activities vary based on facility schedules, staffing and operational requirements.
Activities may include ice skating, swimming, tennis, pickleball, basketball, movies, video games and other recreational options.
Does AF Sports Camps provide Academy tours?
AF Sports Camps does not provide formal United States Air Force Academy tours. Campers may experience several Academy facilities during scheduled camp activities.
What is the lost-and-found process?
Campers should report missing property to their coach or counselor as soon as possible. All belongings and sport equipment should be clearly marked with the camper’s full name.
Families are responsible for shipping costs associated with returning recovered property. Unclaimed items may be donated or discarded after the designated holding period.
What does a typical camp day look like?
Most full-day sport instruction takes place between approximately 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Boarders receive breakfast and dinner and participate in supervised evening recreation. Most Session 1 and Session 2 camps conclude at 12:00 p.m. Friday, with pickup completed by 12:30 p.m.
Half-day camps, Golf and Session 3 programs follow separate schedules. Review the individual sport page for exact times.
