FRESHMAN YEAR | 2025: Competed on the vault in seven meets…scored a career-best 13.625 at the All-Academy Championships…added a 13.600 to place sixth in the triangular meet with Army West Point and Simpson…made collegiate debut in opener at Oklahoma…also competed on the parallel bars six times…scored a personal-best 13.250 in the home dual with California…also surpassed the 13-point mark at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships (13.200).
BEFORE USAFA: Graduated from Clear Lake High School…named a Superintendent’s Scholar by the Clear Creek ISD…member of the National Honor Society and German Honor Society…earned all-region and all-district band honors in 2021…member of the Health Occupations Students of America…competed at the club level for Thornton’s Gymnastics Center (League City, Texas)…coached by Todd Thornton…four-year national qualifier…finished fourth on the parallel bars at the 2023 USA Developmental National Championships…also placed 11th on the high bar at that meet…Texas state and Region 3 Level 10 Elite qualifier in 2023…USAG Academic All-American.
PERSONAL: Full name is Jack Thomas Foltyn…son of Jason and Janet Foltyn…has two older brothers…majoring in biology…earning a minor in pre-health…future plans include becoming a pilot…named to the Dean’s List…currently serving as a squadron supervisor…hobbies include piano, saxophone, juggling, swimming and ultimate frisbee…can plan four different types of saxophones…has traveled to the Czech Republic and Japan…favorite event is the high bar, because “learning new skills is very rewarding, and it takes a combination of constant practice and fearlessness to achieve results”…earned Jump Wings over the summer after completing Airmanship 490…also took part in Combat Survival Training…member of Cadet Squadron 34.
