SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2026: NCAA Qualifier in the all-around…Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-around champion…earned all-conference honors on the floor exercise, still rings, all-around…set a Meet Record score of 78.700 to win the all-around at the All-Academy Championships…added top-three finishes on the still rings (second, season-high 12.900) and parallel bars (third, career-high 13.250) at the annual triangular with Army and Navy…named MPSF Gymnast of the Week after that meet…his 78.700 total is the sixth-highest all-around score in program history…placed fifth in the all-around at the National Qualifier…scored a 13.400 on the high bar at Oklahoma to tie the fourth-highest score on that apparatus in Air Force history…matched that tally at the conference championships…posted a season-best 13.400 on the floor exercise to place second in the Falcons’ home finale against the Rocky Mountain Mavericks…also tied for first on the vault at that meet…recorded a season-high vault score of 13.800 at Stanford.
FRESHMAN YEAR | 2025: USAG All-American on the floor exercise…competed on that event nine times…recorded a personal-best score of 13.550 to finish second at the All-Academy Championships…garnered USAG All-America honors after placing fourth at the USAG Collegiate Nationals (13.000)…Falcons’ top finisher at the NCAA National Qualifier (13.400, 13th)…used a career-best still rings score of 13.050 to win that event in the home dual meet with California…competed on the high bar and vault in eight meets…made all-around debut in the triangular with Army West Point and Simpson, finishing second with a 75.750…added career-best marks on the pommel horse (11.950 debut), vault (13.850) and parallel bars (12.800 debut) during that meet.
BEFORE USAFA: Graduated from Frenship High School…competed at the club level for Texas Elite Gymnastics Academy…coached by Charlie Ellis…silver medalist on the still rings at the 2022 USA Championships…collected seven medals at the Junior Olympic Nationals…qualified to five junior national meets…Academic All-American.
PERSONAL: Full name is Jared Kent Fry…son of Jason and Shana Fry…has one older brother, who is enlisted in the Marines and currently serving as a C-130 load master…also has younger twin brothers…majoring in biology…future plans include becoming an acquisitions officer…also hopes to compete on the U.S. National Team…named to the Commandant’s List for excellence in military performance…also named to the Athletic Director’s List…currently serving as the A4/A6 NCOIC, Force Protection/Logistics…attended the Academy’s Prep School…received the athletic pin and deputy director’s pin…hobbies include Spikeball, volleyball, pickleball, and “pretty much anything active”…swallowed a marble at age seven and had two surgeries because of it…favorite event is the pommel horse, because “when done right, it is the most satisfying and rewarding event”…served as an instructor during CWIC (Cadet Warfighter Instructor Course) over the summer, teaching the current sophomore class on basic warfighting fundamentals…also traveled to Luke AFB, Ariz., for Operation Air Force…member of Cadet Squadron 38.
