JUNIOR YEAR | 2018: USAG All-American on the floor exercise...competed in that event during every team competition, as well as the event finals of the USAG Collegiate National Championships...scored a personal-best score of 14.200 to finish second at the All-Academy Championships...that total is the sixth-highest score in Academy history...won the floor exercise (13.600) during the Falcons’ victory at Army West Point...claimed USAG All-America honors after scoring a 13.750 to finish third in the individual event finals.
SOPHOMORE YEAR | 2017 (new scoring system): Competed on the floor exercise in 13 meets...scored a career-best 14.150 to win the All-Academy Championships...also finished first in that event at Illinois-Chicago (13.300), pacing the Falcons to a sweep of the top-three places...finished third (13.850) on the floor during the Falcons’ victory over California...also competed on the pommel horse twice.
FRESHMAN YEAR | 2016: Competed on the floor exercise during 11 competitions...scored a career-high 15.250 to tie for second at the All-Academy Championships...debuted in fourth on the Academy’s all-time standings with that score...added a top-five finish at the USAG Collegiate National Championships (14.500)...paced the Falcons on the floor exercise during their meet at Army West Point (14.300, fifth)...competed on the pommel horse four times.
HIGH SCHOOL | CLUB TEAM: Burlington High School...competed at the club level for Gymnastics and More...coached by Mitko Lountchev...placed fourth in the all-around at the 2014 Junior Olympic Nationals and finished seventh at the 2015 meet.
PERSONAL: Full name is Ryan Michael Girouard...son of Michael and Caroline Girouard...father played baseball and hockey at Brown University...has two siblings...majoring in behavioral science...future plans include becoming an RPA pilot...served as Athletics Officer...named to the Athletic Directors list as a junior...hobbies include Netflix...worked Falcon Sports Camps and completed the Academy’s Power Flight program over the summer...also vacationed at his lake house in New Hampshire...favorite event is the floor exercise, because “it’s my best event and it’s rewarding to get new skills and compete them”...member of Cadet Squadron 28.
