Falcons Take Second In Season Opener

U.S.A.F. ACADEMY, Colo.- The Air Force women's gymnastics team finished second behind the UC Davis Aggies at the Rocky Mountain Open Saturday evening in the Cadet Gymnasium's West Gym. The Falcons ended the meet with a final team score of 190.125 behind UC Davis' 191.625. Texas Woman's University took third with a score of 189.150.

Air Force team captain Allison Todd tied for first in the all-around with teammate Laura Frank who both finished with a score of 38.925. Todd also took the top spots on floor (9.925), followed by Frank (9.800), and beam (9.825), followed again by Frank (9.725). Falcon newcomer Lauren Robison finished fifth in the all-around with a 36.925 and junior Becky Lewis took sixth (36.750).

Other Air Force highlights were Frank who took third on vault (9.750) and on bars (9.650) and Meagan McCowan who tied for sixth on floor.

The Falcons will be in action again Saturday, February 8, when they travel to Denver to take on Denver University and Alaska at 6 p.m. in Hamilton Gymnasium.
