WASHINGTON D.C. - The Air Force women's gymnastics team closed the regular season with a 195.675-193.625 loss to George Washington University on Sunday, March 14, in Washington D.C.
Junior Jessa Liegl (Lincoln, Neb.) won the all-around with a total score of 39.150. She finished tied for second on the vault with a score of 9.800. She also tied for second on the balance beam with senior Laura Frank (Midland. Pa.), as each registered scores of 9.800. Liegl earned a fourth-place tied finish on the floor exercise with senior Erin Maguire (Pocatello, Idaho), both scoring a mark of 9.825. Liegl also earned a fifth-place tie on the uneven bars, garnering a score of 9.725.
Maguire earned two other top-five finishes for Air Force, as she tied for fourth on the balance beam with a score of 9.775 and tied for fifth on the vault with a score of 9.700.
Senior captain Rebecca Lewis (Plano, Texas) finished second in the all-around with a score of 38.600, while Maguire and sophomore Lauren Robison (Garner, N.C.) tied for third wtih matching scores of 38.575.
The Falcons next action will be on Saturday, March 20, when they travel to San Jose, Calif., for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championships.
