Falcons Finish Third in Home Finale

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force men's gymnastics team performed at the Cadet Field House for the final time this season, finishing third in a tri-meet with Illinois-Chicago and No. 3 California, on Sunday, March 7. The Falcons posted a team total of 206.750 to finish behind meet-winner Cal (217.300) and UIC (213.250). It is the team's second-highest score of the season, trailing the 208.300 that they posted on Friday against the Flames.
Jeff Andersen (Marietta, Ga.) was the highest Falcon finisher in an individual event, tying for second on the still rings with a score of 9.500. Andersen also tied for fourth on the vault with a score of 9.050. The senior finished third in the all-around with a combined event score 52.650.
Sophomore Greg Stine (Houston, Texas) finished second in the all-around with a team score of 53.350. He earned a pair of fourth-place finishes on the still rings (9.475) and high bar (9.000).
Sunday's meet was the final time that five Falcon seniors competed in the surroundings of Cadet West Gym. Andersen, Julian Benton, Michael Berry, Matthew Joseph and Noah Rich were honored this weekend for their contributions to the Air Force men's gymnastics program.
The Falcons return to action on Friday, March 12, when they travel to Lincoln, Neb., to take on Nebraska and Oklahoma in their final preparation for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championships.
